Tecmo Koei has announced that Dynasty Warriors 8 is making the arduous journey to Western territories. Fortunately for series fans, the wait won’t be a long one, as the game's set to launch on 12th July in Europe and 16th July in North America.
Adding to the good news, it’s been confirmed that the sequel will support both English and Japanese voice work, a feature that Tecmo Koei hasn’t employed since the franchise’s last main entry, Dynasty Warriors 7. To top it all off, we’ve also been offered a glimpse at the game’s rather intense box art.
Dynasty Warriors 8 adds a slew of new characters and weapons to play around with, in addition to some revamped combat mechanics. It also boasts a more cinematic story, and sees the return of the fan-favourite free mode. Are you looking forward to conquering ancient China for the third time this generation? I'm always interested in each new installment. Ive played almost every one lol even the original on Ps1 that was a tekken style brawler. I just hope they don't listen to western reviewers and make wholesale changes to the combat system like they did with the dreadful DW6 (funny how western reviewers don't complain about COD being the same every year) DW7 was a return to form so I hope they only refine the combat mechanics this time. Also hope DW8 still has the 3D option.
@MadchesterManc You'll be glad to know the combat is essentially the same as DW7, it's just received a few strategic upgrades. From what I gather, weapons now have types, and so some have an advantage over others - this allows you to pull off some new special attacks if the situation is right.
The other major change, from what I've seen, is mainly on the visual side of things. It's easily the best looking DW title yet.
great i've been looking forward to this game
Yay, more Dynasty Warriors! Hope I'll have Empires finished by then xD
