Job done

Drinkbox Studios’ brilliant Guacamelee! has proven that it’s hotter than chilli con carne, topping the PlayStation Network sales charts in both Europe and North America for the month of April. The side-scrolling brawler fought off a cavalcade of heavy-hitters in each region, including the likes of Terraria, Tomb Raider, and old favourite Journey.

In fact, so impressive was Juan Aguacate's crusade, that the luchador conquered the charts on both the PlayStation 3 and Vita, with European blog manager Fred Dutton noting that the title performed better on the platform holder’s handheld by a “significant margin”. Seeing as the game supports cross-buy, we’re not quite sure how the company's calculating that data, but it at least bodes well for the portable.

Elsewhere, the moreish Soul Sacrifice got off to a decent start on the Vita charts in both regions, while the Resident Evil trilogy leapfrogged Final Fantasy VII to the summit of the North American PSone Classics list.
