The console war isn’t all about competition. The likes of Sony and Microsoft can also learn from each other, and in a refreshingly complimentary comment, Microsoft Studios’ corporate vice president Phil Spencer has revealed that he feels that the PlayStation maker is doing a “nice job” of building content for its digital marketplace.
“I think that Sony’s done a nice job of this,” he said in an interview with OXM regarding downloadable titles. “Journey was a fantastic game. I thought that they did a really nice job, and, you know, as a portfolio manager, it’s my job to figure out what [we're] going to focus on.”
There’s no sign of the Japanese giant slowing down in this department with the PlayStation 4, as the firm has already revealed digital endeavours such as Hohokum, Doki-Doki Universe, and The Witness. Still, it’s nice to hear a company executive actually acknowledge a competitor in a non-confrontational manner.

I don't trust compliments from Microsoft...
Journey - the harbinger of world peace.
It's a double edged sword. It's like the mind games Sir Alex Ferguson used to employ at Manchester United. Praise your enemy's strongest asset and lul them into a false sense of security.
Spencer is a pretty cool guy. Really looking forward to next week.
Journey is great, but I doubt this guy has ever played a game in his life.
Okay, so MS is jealous of Journey. I'm jealous of it too; I wish I came up with and produced a high-selling indie game and got money for it. But I didn't and that's why I let Sony do it and don't try to make a better/alternative console myself. (Y'all hear about the NON-FREE windows 8 start button update? I hate Microsoft.)
@charlesnarles
are you mental?
One Microsoft had a ton of high profile high selling games ion they're console.
Two windows 8.1 is a free download and adds much than a start button.
@Sony_70 idk, man... It's a distinct possibility that I'm mental. Dude said Sony's better at managing their indie game portfolio, and GameInformer said the update would cost $30, though, so... yeah.
@charlesnarles
Well it is true that Sony is the best of the big three when it comes to indies.

Not sure how much it will be for not 8/RT users.
Now Microsoft just needs to bow down and accept Sony as the master of gaming.
It is nice to see corporate figureheads paying respects to their competitors.
