Bellevue-based developer Disastercake’s self-described love letter to the PSone era Soul Saga is set to bring its brand of JRPG-esque melodrama to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, as it has surpassed its stretch goals on crowdfunding website Kickstarter with just over 15 days left to go.
One-man workhorse Mike Gale needed to raise $80,000 in order to expand to the aforementioned PlayStation platforms, but the project has accrued just short of $95,000 at the time of writing. Should more money be contributed over the coming weeks, the daring developer hopes to implement more features, such as Skies of Arcadia-style airship exploration.
The title itself promises 20 hours of episodic throwback bliss, with full voice acting, a compelling cast, and a combat system inspired by the classics of yesteryear. If you’ve been gunning for some old-school adventuring like Barret from Final Fantasy VII, then you may just want to plop a pledge on the game’s Kickstarter page through here.

will be getting it for vita
@sammy barker : I currently been using the free unity 3d software to make a game i have a bunch of ideas to make a game but need direction and advice to get to the finish line. I am a vita owner and have a passion for videogames and I wanna add to the vita library. Do you think you can help me out.
@tonyp1987 Sadly, I don't really know much about actual game development. Try asking on a development-focused forum, or contacting some of your favourite developers on Twitter. I'm sure someone with expert know-how will be able to point you in the right direction!
Good luck!
@get2sammyb: Well is there anyway I can join your team and help create a new project after this one?
Been looking forward to this one - currently enjoying playing Rainbow Moon - but I gotta say the Sonic Adventure-esque music was kinda grating on me, and the voice acting was making me wish it was in Japanese. And the character graphics reminded me of the Evolution series on the Dreamcast, which was lame enough that my wife played both games.
Still, it's nice to see somebody making the effort to make what seems like a Dreamcast game. I just hope the characters don't break the fourth wall in the game, it was kind of off-putting. Unless Psycho Mantis is in the game.
I hope there will be Cross Save between PS4 and Vita Version, since I would love to be able to play this, while I travel and relax ad home with it
