PS4 Will Let You Add an Enormous 2,000 Friends

You’ll be able to befriend an incredible 2,000 people on the PlayStation 4. Sony confirmed the snippet at part of a PlayStation Access video published earlier this afternoon, which also detailed other topics such as party chat, 3D, and more. You can watch the full Q&A in the space below.

Currently, the PlayStation 3 allows you to add up to 100 friends. This limitation has been a recurring source of frustration for socialites, so we suppose that the affirmation that you’ll be able to connect with the average attendance at a Burton Albion home match should be enough to allay your concerns. Does anyone even know 2,000 people?

I've got about 70 friends on PS3 and to say I know even a quarter of them would be a lie.

Yeah, I'm in a similar boat to @ShogunRok. I used to have a rule whereby if someone doesn't log in for a month, I delete them, but I haven't been keeping it lately. Also refuse to accept any requests for people that don't attach a message. May just open the floodgates when PS4 comes out, though. Looks like you can filter people into groups anyway.

@get2sammyb Actual people I know and like/people I should really delete/everyone else.

I get a load of requests with no context (presumably because I'm quite the popular chap) but I always reject them. A couple of lines explaining why you're adding me isn't too much to ask, is it?

@get2sammyb @ShogunRok I think most people live by the rule of ignoring requests with no message. I know I do. I only have 38 people on my list and I know pretty much all of them personally or from this site. I can see some people turning the whole 2000 person friends list into some sort of Myspace style pissing contest. I honestly doubt my Ps3/Ps4 would even ever break past 50, let alone get near 2000 lol

I only have like 7 or 8 friends. Most of them from on here. I only add people that I know for real or online.

@ObviouslyAdachi 100. It's being expanded to 1,000 with Xbox One, I believe.

In the access said that Dual Shock 3 is not compatible with PS4, only move is... Too bad we may have to buy more controllers for our annual Pro and Mortal Kombat Tournaments (assuming that the arrive in PS4 someday).

Friends, family, and the odd few I meet online. Added quite a few from MAG back in the day, but that was purely to secure a decent squad.
2000 actual people sharing real IDs? No ta.

I have 6 friends which I actually know all of them, I've tried adding people but its unecassary when I never played with them again and end up removing them, I can't comprehend anyone adding 2,000 people and actually being friends with them but hey definetly an upgrade that pleases some people so that's good
