As hinted at earlier in the month, Helldivers is a brand new first-party project headed to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Vita in 2014. The title – a collaboration between Arrowhead Studios and Sony’s own Foster City outfit – is a top-down shooter set in a “satirical and dystopian future”. Well, that clears that up, huh?
You’ll play as part of an elite unit known as the, er, Helldivers, and will participate in single player and co-operative assaults on procedurally generated battlefields. “Working together as a team will be vital, whether calling in strikes or placing weapons, each action must be totally synchronized to achieve objectives,” explained game director Johan Pilestedt on the PlayStation Blog.
The game will support cross-play and cross-save across the aforementioned platforms, as well as an online component that will see your efforts contribute to a global metagame. You can check out the title’s first trailer in the space below. Will you be strapping yourself into this one? Let us know in the comments section.

So that's what happened to Ruin.
Cross-Play between all platforms? Now thats a bullet point worth mentioning. Hopefully more offerings in the future will be doing this as too few have happened so far for my liking.
Honestly, I wasn't impressed.
Looks interesting. Kinda like Halo and Alien Breed mix. I hope the weapons have a good feeling kick to them.
Looks like I wasn't too far off when I suggested an ODST-vibe, back then when the rumor on this game surfaced. This looks nice, definitely gonna check it out.
