Ubisoft has confirmed the existence of Assassin's Creed Liberation HD, a home console version of the PS Vita title Assassin's Creed III: Liberation.
As well as getting a resolution boost, the game will benefit from improved facial animation, improved AI, better audio and 15 additional missions. However, some of the touchscreen puzzles have been removed as they obviously wouldn't work on the DualShock 3 pad.
The game is due in 2014.

Although it's cheap on Vita and I could use something to play on that...
What we want is Black Flag on Vita!
To be honest this is the only Assassins Creed game to interest me for the past few years. Its down to about £15 preowned on Vita now so Ive been seriously tempted to bite, Ive just not in case I get burnt n it ends up like ass creed 3. Still, Id rather play on the Vita than a HD remaster for Ps3 so I might just bite the bullet at the weekend n see how it goes
I already own it in Vita but I'm going to get it. Even if its just to see what's new and different/better...
While I'm excited for this, Sony really might be hurting itself by putting one of the few high-profile Vita titles on PS3. Now consumers have even less incentive to purchase the struggling handheld.
I'm not even half way through the game and just gonna trade in AC3L and just wait for this one. AC games are best to be played on the big screen anyway.
@grenworthshero well, they'll have even less motivation when Vita TV comes to the west. That screenshot comparison shows why it needed the res. boost
I wish they would do this with Uncharted Golden Abyss. I love the Uncharted series but I have no desire whatsoever to play on a handheld.
I really need to finish this game on VIta.
My friend is getting happy, since I want to play it, but don't own a vita
The game looked really good on vita, but I traded it in because of the atrocious story. Aveline's a great character, so I may grab this new version.
PS3? why not PS4 as well?
Especially given that the DS4 has a touch pad so those removed features could be added back in...
Also, if they are going to go to the trouble of making it prettier (up res, better textures/ligthing/animations/etc why not do it the best they can and release on PS4?
I'd download this if it was on PSN on PS4.
Also, I don't own PS3 or vita but i have a PS4 preordered, that's why i really want it on there haha
@bradd78 You my friend have too much money to burn, haha.
Is this a downloadable or physical release? or both?
It looks like they dusted the place off in the screen shot comparison. Looks like they changed something intentional with the area.
Do both the PS3 and PS4 versions of Black Flag contain the Aveline extra content?
