An uneven campaign that features too many scenarios where you're not simply gunning down Helghast has been a popular criticism of PlayStation 4 launch title Killzone: Shadow Fall. Thankfully, Guerrilla Games has its sights set firmly on your concerns, and has released a patch that puts an end to some of the single player's biggest problems based on player feedback.
Update v1.05 tweaks two problematic scenarios, hopefully allowing for a more enjoyable blood-soaked experience. For starters, the end section of Chapter 7, "Secure the Target", has been shortened. Even better is the fact that it's now easier to avoid smashing Lucas Kellan's face into the side of a crumbling building during Chapter 8, "Outcast", thanks to a raised collision ceiling.
There are also a few bug fixes peppered into the patch as well – the details of which you can read by clicking through here. It's great to see the developer already taking steps to reshape the shooter based on noted concerns, especially before the game's launch in Europe tomorrow. Are you saluting Guerrilla Games' eager attitude? March with us in the comments section below.

Yep, my PS4 has already downloaded and installed this. The future, indeed.
@get2sammyb I had to:

Haven't been able to try the patch. But chapter 8 is one of those completely not fun video game sequences. I died 37 times back to back and had to put it away for a while.
The part where you fly through crumbling buildings was terrible. I died so many times because you hardly have any control. I cant believe anyone at guerilla games thought that was fun lol
@goonow right with you.
Not even close to chapter 7 yet but it's good they're listening to suggestions. I gotta play the campaign more
Does this change it without choice, or do they let you play the original game if you want to?
@Jaz007 It'll be a forced change once you have the patch.
@ShogunRok @Jaz007 Though I guess you could not connect your console and you'd get the original version by default. It's definitely harder to avoid patches on PS4.
@get2sammyb @ShogunRok Well that stinks, I think the option for the original game should be available for the odd person who preferred the original version. I don't see why they don't give the option, it seems like such a simple thing.
How much has been shortened off the end of Chapter 7? hopefully not too much, it's good to see Guerrilla already sorting out any bugs etc.
@get2sammyb Actually, I would recommend to do a "review update" after implementing this patch so that we readers can know how the game is now after the patch. You can add it as a paragraph in the original review page.
@Jaz007 Some games (like Blazblue) allow you to pick whether you want to play the original game, or any of the downloaded patches.
@Cloud7794 Yes, that would have been cool by giving the choice to the player. May be GG had issues separating the original game from the patch to give it as a separate option, you never know..
I really appreciate any company to work on the feedback given by its users/customers... and that too so fast...
@ztpayne7 @goonow
Yup, I would put that idiotic segment there with the worst of any video game I've ever played. I think Shadow Fall is great overall but that stupid part almost made me rage quit. At one point I had to put the controller down, get up and pace around the room for a couple minutes to calm down. Really don't know how that part got approved.
Oh. And I'm kinda surprised the secure the target part was picked. I think I only died once on that part and was more cautious and it wasn't bad. A good second pick would be the scene directly before it, where you're floating in space with apparently some kind of random gun defending the container. Much worse section.
@ztpayne7
I didn't think either of those parts were that bad. I got my a$$ kicked a few times at the end of Chapter 7 but that's because I was playing like an imbecile. The only change that really needed to be made was to the start of 8, that truly sucked.
