Another day, another vague 2014 release date. Indie shooter Mercenary Kings was originally planned to launch sometime in November this year, but developer Tribute Games recently announced that the title has been delayed, and is now pencilled in for early 2014. "We’re extremely grateful and excited about people asking for the game on the PlayStation 4," the studio said in a blog post. "It was our hope to have it completed and in your hands for the holidays, but the game is not in the shape that it needs to be for its official, full release."
If you've not been paying attention, Mercenary Kings is an arcade shooter in the classical style. The game's main hook is its insanely robust weapon crafting system, which features over 300 gun parts to play with. What's more, the blog post also revealed that the title will be completely compatible with PlayStation Vita remote play at launch, which means that you'll be able to customise your loadout while using the toilet. Are you excited for this decidedly retro romp, or is it making you Metal Shrug? Run and gun in the comments section below.

I honestly thought it was scheduled for next year from the start. So that news doesn't upset me. Still looking forward to this game.
