You’ve read our interview with video game veteran Luc Bernard, but you may be eager to see his latest title Desert Ashes in action. Fortunately, we have almost 10 minutes of gameplay footage to share exclusively with you, which reveals everything from the flow of the turn-based strategy title, right through to its impressive multi-campaign menu.
Much like its spiritual predecessor Mecho Wars, the action is heavily inspired by Nintendo classic Advance Wars, as you capture territories, recruit cybernetic combatants, and off any enemies within your radius. However, there’s a time passing element here, which will give some of your allies boosts at certain points – or, if you’re not careful, put you at a disadvantage.
The real highlight, though, is the way in which you can seamlessly switch between online and single player skirmishes at any point, meaning that you’ll never find yourself waiting for an opponent to make a move. The title will launch as a free-to-play game on the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV soon, so do give the video a look and let us know what you think in the comments section.

Eh, not really my type of game. I don't like this genre and there aren't enough sound effects. I probably won't even be giving this a try- mainly because I don't want another empty Trophy bar on my trophy list(I'm looking at you, Destiny of Spirits and No Heroes Allowed).
I love the art style very much, not a fan of the genre myself but it does look tempting.
A bouns for future PS TV owners as its at least 1 game we know will work.
And speaking of PS TV Sony actually included it in my weekly email update, they haven't forgotten about it after all.
hey it's free! i'll give it a try.
Advance Wars is my third fav handheld game of all time. If this is fun and the free to play model isn't crap I'm going to really enjoy this I think
