Sony’s big Black Friday flash sale in Europe was flush with PlayStation Vita titles, but its North American alternative overlooked the handheld entirely. This caused a bit of an uproar among followers of the format, but the platform holder has reiterated that it still “loves” the diminutive device – and that fans should keep an eye out for fresh discounts in the future.
“We love the Vita over here, too, but unfortunately no discounts made it to this sale,” wrote digital distribution manager Chieh Chen. “There may or may not be other sales in the coming weeks that include Vita titles.” The executive included a little smiley face at the end of that message, indicating that there will likely be good times ahead for fans of Sony’s pocketable platform.
Elsewhere, Chen hinted that it could run a PlayStation TV related sale in the future. Not every game runs on the microconsole, so we suspect that this would focus on titles that are fully compatible. Are there any Vita releases in particular that you’d like to pick up at a reduced rate? Show your appreciation for the portable appliance in the comments section below.

Persona 4 for about a tenner atm...sweet, sweet deal and all the proof you need that the Vita has a purpose.
The lies are becoming more obvious.
A dedicated PS TV game sale might be a good idea to highlight what games it can actually play. The price is already dropping and w/ the demand for the 3 home consoles this holiday season I can't see the PS TV flying off of shelves w/o a bit of help. And as @JaxonH pointed out yesterday, a sale on the overpriced memory cards would make nice stocking stuffers for those who already own either a Vita or PS TV.
My own desire for the PS TV has dwindled since it looks like it isn't getting most of the streaming apps anytime soon. I really wanted it as a streaming box first for my new tv, the games were going to be a benefit. I need something that plays HBO Go on my tv before GoT starts.
Shame Sony don't "Love" it enough to make games for it...
Yeah right. "Sony loves Vita"- Ha! Joke of the day.
I agree absolutely with the Memory Cards, they are way overpriced, and i have to be selective with which games i am downloading, because i dont want to delete other games i have purchased. I absolutely adore my Vita, and plan to purchase more games. But seriously, storage has gotten cheaper across the board (microSD, anyone?) and I love showing off new titles, especially to iphone and xbox fanboys. One other suggestion: how about encouraging more development for Second Screen? I get jealous of friends with the Wii U for this one reason, which i feel there should be only one reason to be jealous of them, and thats exclusive titles.
Cool story sony...
What they mean to say is, "You don't have to worry about sales, we've got an orange clearance sticker coming real soon to a Vita near you".
Not the kind of discount I had in mind Sony.

Until Sony gets their heads out their own @$$£$$ and gets Netflix on PSTV, I will not buy it. It also needs to drop the INSANE memory card prices & make more Vita games compatible. Uncharted is almost a must, at this point.
But looking at how Sony has done a disgraceful job supporting the Vita, I am not getting my hopes up.
Sony just needs to develop and roll out an app on the PS4 to allow Vita gamers to play their Vita games on tv thru their PS4. As soon as Sony does that, Vita sales will increase and it'll push more gamers to buy PS4 consoles because it's the one big thing that XBox One can't do. Why Sony hasn't exploited the hell out of the Vita as a PS4 "companion accessory" to differentiate itself from the competition is beyond me.
At work this week, two new temp employees noticed me playing my Vita on break, and they've both already talked themselves into buying one. One of the guys even went into GameStop and couldn't find a Vita to buy. I'm guessing it's because GameStop has one side of a small kiosk (facing the back corner of the store next to PS2 closeout games) dedicated to Vita. Tough to grow Vita sales with such minimal exposure.
I'd be up for Borderlands 2 for $9.99. Or Pesona 4 Golden for $9.99. Or Little King's story for, say, $4.99.
How about a Vita Ouya for tv--that I could go for. Rebrand it as "Vita Onya TV" and see if it takes off.
“There may or may not be other sales in the coming weeks that include Vita titles.” lol
I'd like to see Spelunky, OlliOlli, Pix the Cat, and Freedom Wars go on sale just because those are pretty much the only decent Vita games I don't own
I hate Sony... SMH
Sony doesn't love vita no AAA games for it
I'd be more interested in a Vita myself, if it had more than four games I'm really hyped about. There are others, but they're basically just filler.
I'm ashamed to admit that the 3DS has alot more games I'm "drooling over".
Ive actually seen a couple of
uk retailers advertising the vita after the ps4 on tv here, its maybe starting to regain a bit of momentum fingers crossed.
Suuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrreee...
Can we at least get a Final Fantasy XII remaster before you throw all your Vita dev kits in a bonfire, Sony?
@jgrangervikings1 same, had people at work looking at the vita on my lunch break and they were very impressed, one thought it was a psp though. One of the guys is getting a ps4 this week and is now toying with the idea of the vita after i explained how it links up with the ps4. I must admit its tough marketing sony products on my lunch break though....
They may love it, but are they willing to bet on it? At least do what MS did for the Windows Phone and make apps for it yourself if others don't want to, like Netflix. Lowering memory card prices, marketing the PS TV, and potentially bringing GTA to the Vita would help, though the latter is quite an investment. A port of V, or preferably a New 3DS / Vita (and therefore PSTV) original title would be nice, though extremely unlikely.
IVe been waiting for a ratchet trilogy sale for weeks now. Im not rebuying a game I already own for the PS3 for another 30 bucks. It needs to hit 15, 20 tops and its all mine baby!!
The thing is that PS TV not being compatible with all Vita games made it a no go for me. I would have gotten one to play Uncharted and Tearaway, but those do not work. And since it still uses those overpriced memory cards, that is another negative for me.
@ToddlerNaruto I know what you mean, i had to buy a 3DS for Smash Bros, and the new pokemon games. Its a shame that the Vita doesnt have many great games, because it is a great handheld.
@Alpha I still need to buy a 3DS here, I'll probably start saving up for one after I have bought a Wii U sometime in Spring 2015.
I currently only own a PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP, I have nothing else for gaming.
only reason i wanted a vita is to play final fantasy x on the go..... then i got Bravely Default and that game is great
