How many versions of BlazBlue are there these days? We’ve given up trying to keep count, but we can confirm that an updated edition is on its way to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 next year. Revealed in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend will be an enhanced version of this year’s PS3 and Vita game, and will include a healthy helping of bonus content. Are you keeping up?
New features confirmed so far include the addition of the formerly arcade exclusive characters, Celica Ayatsuki Mercury and Lambda-11. You can also probably expect some visual bells and whistles in the next-gen re-release, seeing as developer Arc System Works' other title Guilty Gear Xrd Sign looks jaw-dropping on the Japanese giant’s super machine. Expect more information to be announced in the lead up to the title’s 23rd April launch in Japan.

Sony is killing the competition in quantity of games next year.
The Vita version of the original Chrono Phantasma and the visual novel have not been released in Europe yet and it seems unlikely that we will see them somewhat soon. Too bad since I like Blazblue. If the issues with the Eu publishers are not resolved we may see the PS4 game here after FF15 or Last Guardian
I'm about to go from not having enough fighters on PS4, to probably having way to many here before too long
Do the BlazBlue games have different stories or do they build off one another? I've never played one so I don't wanna buy it if I'm gonna be lost in the story
@Cowboysfan-22 I believe the story builds off each other. Playing this means you'll probably miss what happened in the previous game.
I could be wrong, but I'm sure that's the case.
@DerMeister thanks. I'll look it up to see which one I would need to get first
@Cowboysfan-22 I belive the first game in the series was BlazBlue: CalamityTrigger
@Cowboysfan-22 There are 3 main games. The chronological order is (both release-wise and story-wise)
Calamity Trigger (PS3,PSP)
Continuum Shift (PS3,Vita,PSP)
Chrono Phantasma (PS3,Vita only on US)
Some games are available to other platforms (Continuum Shift on 3DS for example). The games have an introductory story that wraps up the event of the previous titles. Note that there is a "definite" edition of Continuum Shift called Extend (PS3 and Vita only) that includes all the DLC.
There is also a Visual Novel that acts as a prequel on Vita (again US only) and some strange mini beat-em-up games on DSi eshop and 3DS eshop that I don't know anything about. I think they are also US only.
I like what that company did with Persona 4 Arena and Ultimax so I think I might like these
@Cowboysfan-22 These are a bit more difficult than the Arena games, but the fighting just feels so right and brutal. I adore the P4U games, but it always seemed to miss that feel of power Blazblue fighting gave.
@Cloud7794 I've actually never been big into fighting games but I like how P4A and U told stories. Are the stories of BlazBlue games any good?
