We booted up God of War III on the PlayStation 3 recently just to see how well it's held up, and we can confirm that that opening boss fight against watery w**ker Poseidon is still as jaw dropping as ever. We're excited, then, to see just how far a peppering of PlayStation 4 polish can push Sony Santa Monica's head ripping release, and these new screenshots give us a good idea.
Deployed to coincide with the Japanese announcement of God of War III Remastered, we get a good glimpse of Hades, as well as protagonist Kratos doing his thang with the brutal Blades of Chaos. Even if the game is some five or so years old, it's already abundantly clear that this is going to be a bit of a savage stunner. The title will come for revenge in July, equipped with a new Photo Mode so that you can document every last murder.

Looks good but don't think I'll double dip on this one unless I get it dirt cheap down the line.
Anyone that hasn't all ready played it should give it a go...
@Splat Agreed. I think it's just a teensy bit too expensive for what it is.
I still havent played Ascension, so that's the one I was hoping they'd re-do. Still, the images look great. Guessing they're making this more for XBox 360 owners who switched to PS4 than for folks like me, who already got their fill on the PS3 original. Still, it'll be tempting when it is released.
I had a PS3 but have never played this franchise. I don't think the price is realistic for a remaster though. I may give it a go when the price drops.
Never played the franchise (except for a few hours on the first one), so or give the me the entire franchise or doesn't matter to me.
I'll wait till it's €8 in CEX, just like the original ps3 version is right now.
Stop to remasters already!
I haven't gotten to 3 yet but I have it in the GOW Saga. Won't double dip...
@Splat 30$ would be the cap for me, I think Resident Evil Remaster hit the right price point
Even I'm to the point of not buying any more remasters, and as much as I complain about them I think I've been the biggest remaster supporter thus far. Darksiders 2 is my last one, and the only reason I'm buying that game is because of the screen tearing on the Wii U version (I love the gamepad integration but that screen tearing really, really sucks).
I'll grab this, in the fall, when it's $20 on Best Buy's website which makes it $16 for me. Then I'll happily buy it.
It's honestly getting a bit ridiculous. Way too many of these remasters.
Please bring it to Vita
It looks as good as how I remember GOW3.. guess this remaster is hard to justify because the original already looks so impressive. the leap won't be big
I'm taking it'll be 1080p 60fps, I'm looking forwards to playing GOW3 again. I love the God Of War games, and God Of War 3 was bloody good.
I can get this on my PS3 for around £5 so there is zero chance I'll get it for PS4. I understand why Sony has done a remaster but the only remaster I want to see is either an Elder Scrolls or a Fallout box set. I'd pick those up day one!
I'm sorry, can sm1 please tell me the difference? :-/
