Mirror's Edge 2 protagonist Faith will be spending a little while longer lacing up her sneakers, as EA has announced that the hotly anticipated sequel is not due out until 2016. It's been a while since we heard anything about the DICE developed parkour-fest, but writing as part of a financial presentation, the organisation suggested that the release's due out between 1st January and 31st March. It seems likely, then, that we'll learn more about it at E3 next month.
Despite failing to set cash registers alight, the inaugural entry in the Swedish studio's original property has cultivated something of a cult following, with the constant clamouring for a free running comeback no doubt influencing the decision to make a sequel in the first place. It'll be interesting to see how the organisation attempts to evolve the formula this time around – we reckon that an open world format like Dying Light could work well.

An open world??? Sammy I dont think anyone wants that but you.
With this sequel it would be good to have more freeform sections in amongst the levels.
I don't think an open world format would be such a bad thing if done correctly!
I'm a huge ambassador for Mirrors Edge. Played through the campaign about 5 times in total. The Platinum is impossible though. Those time trial times for stars
