As with every other game in the series, Assassin's Creed Syndicate will include many famous faces from the Victorian era. And this brand new trailer introduces a few of them – like Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone turned explosives expert. It's fair to say that Ubisoft's taking a few liberties again, then, but as a fan of the period, it's quite neat seeing Florence Nightingale and Queen Victoria all in the same game.
Bizarrely, this title's out in less than ten days, which is strange because it doesn't feel like the French publisher's managed to get the hype train rolling yet. Are you looking forward to touring London – or did your interest in this franchise evaporate with the awful Assassin's Creed Unity? Turn back time in the comments section below.

Dang, ten days, really? The hype train really isn't rolling. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the worst selling AC game ever. I certainly hope it is. I honesty want to be excited for it, but they're mocking the period with a grappling hook and looking to undo a lot of the great things Unity did for the series. It's just a waste of the time period and place. They've should've just made a Brotherhood for Unity. A refined Unity with new gameplay features would've been amazing. A possible 10/10.
The last assassin's creed I played was the dire American revolution one, which permanently put me off the franchise. I won't be playing another one until this tired formula is completely redesigned from the ground up.
@Jaz007 apart from the no multiplayer, is it a LOT different than unity? I haven't been following it. I'm sure the grappling hook won't be available til later?
Also, even though I loved unity, I learned my lesson. Never buy an ac game until months after it comes out.
@Jaz007 You hope its the worst selling AC game ever? Im no fan of the series, nor will I ever be but, I personally think Syndicate looks pretty good and I wish them all the success, for them and the fans.
@ztpayne7 The combat is a different system now. It'll probably destroy the balance Unity found with the need to be stealthy assassin, and the need to be deadly in combat. I'm not even sure if social stealth (crowd blending) is around anymore. I also think the grappling hook is a big deal.
@Flender That was what Unity did. They redid everything to match the core values the series originally had.
@WARDIE I don't AC to fall off the map, but I want this to perform poorly so AC shies away from this direction, and maybe stops being annual, so it gets the development time needed to be truly great. Basically, I'll be voting with my wallet and hope others agree me.
@Jaz007 I'll be getting it, but the main reason is, London was my home city for a couple of years. I hope the local is well done aswell as the historical figures that will be making an appearance. It certainly looks nice in the graphics department. If the gameplay is fun and the story is interesting I will be more than happy.
Apart from Black Flag, Syndicate will be my first AC game I buy new.
I'm sure ill be picking up Syndicate eventually, but I'm waiting for full reviews and more importantly after Unity - that the game is fully functional.
The hype train thing is an interesting point.
Syndicate looks really good, but I feel like Ubisoft is laying relatively low with this one, possibly due to possible franchise burnout and the whiplash from last year's launch.
Every AC game in the past had huge, hyped up marketing campaigns before launch. I started preordering every one after ACII, and with Unity, I actually bought the season pass before the game launched (my mistake!)
So this year I'm playing it safe and waiting till after launch.
