Mighty No. 9, the Kickstarter-developed Mega Man-esque project from industry legend Keiji Inafune has been delayed more times than we care to count - but it's currently on track for launch early next year, on the 12th February. In fact, Inafune recently popped up at a Japanese convention to confirm that this was still the case. Let's hope that it stays that way, eh?
The slightly worrying thing, though, is that Inafune also mentioned that he's thinking about a potential sequel - but only if the game does well. This would usually seem like a logical thought process, but given Mighty No. 9's rather questionable development cycle - during which Inafune launched a separate crowdfunded project that partially failed - we can't help but be cynical. In short, just get the first bloody game out - we've been writing about it for what seems like an eternity.

Is the game finished yet, Inafune?
As usual, Kamiya's words come to our minds. He is indeed a businessman above everything else.
Oh Inafune you crazy person, you. One thing at a time, man.
Wonder if this sequel will need kickstarter money...
If MN9 is anything but a big, fat disappointment; I'll be pleasantly surprised. If it sells well enough to non-backers to justify a sequel, I'll purchase a hat for the sole purpose of eating it.
This guy is a joke.
when it was announced, this looked like one of those must buy games. since then all the s**t they've pulled has convinced me otherwise. if i get this at all it'll be during a sale
Isn't he also meant to be working on Recore as well?! How about you finish your first bloody game you muppet?
