Hideo Kojima's first independent game will be published by Sony and won't have anything to do with the Metal Gear Solid or Silent Hill franchises, the platform holder has revealed. The manufacturer has said that the PlayStation 4 console exclusive will instead deliver "completely new gaming experiences" that only the veteran developer can provide.
As part of an FAQ posted by PlayStation's European community manager Pad Poet, the organisation did admit that the release will launch on the PC after the PS4, but this was expected. The game will be developed by the newly established Kojima Productions, but the Japanese giant will apparently "provide support if necessary". There's certainly no mention of co-development with Japan Studio, so this isn't a Bloodborne-esque scenario.
Many of the details are still under wraps – and presumably undecided at this stage. Sony did stress that its relationship with Konami will not be affected by the new venture, and that it continues to see the company as one of its most "important" publishing partners. And that's all she wrote for now – we doubt that we'll be learning much more about this for a few years.

I'm so excited for this. Looking forward to what's in store.
Looks interesting, pity he's not doing a new version of Silent Hills. Are we supposed to know the significance of the logo?
@feral1975 I read a description of the logo on NeoGAF. Hmm, let me try and find it hang on.
Found it, from Twitter: https://twitter.com/HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN/status/677041236906082304
"It expresses the vision of 'aiming the new world with the latest technology and pioneering spirit'."
@get2sammyb why do I get the feeling this is going to be a heavy vr title for ps4/pc. I'm excited about what it could be, but I've just got this feeling it's going to be a be/rift title.
@BigDaddyT0101 The FAQ does mention VR but just says they have nothing to announce about that. Could well be, though, you're right.
Sony being careful, trying not to upset Konami I see But are we expecting Konami to release anything of any real value now Kojima is gone?
@LieutenantFatman PES is still a big franchise, I guess.
@get2sammyb
Thanks for that. Hmm combined with it's look of, as Neolit says a head in a Greek style helmet seems a marriage of the organic and technology. It sounds like he's going with an exclusively VR based ideology.
Very happy to read this. I have always wanted Kojima to try something not MGS related for a change, so I hope it is not VR.
@Neolit
Isn't that Roman? Either way, I don't like the logo. Of course he says it has no ties to Silent Hills, but with them being in the planning stages and probably nothing set in stone, I'd say this is a reimagining of what Silent Hills would've been and I suspect it'll focus heavily on VR.
@LieutenantFatman With Kojima and Igarashi both gone probably not. Unless they pull their heads out of their backsides and release a new Contra, then maybe.
@Neolit
Thanks for making me not feel stupid
So is a SFV deal, suh-weet
Shame Silent Hills won't come back as Siren though
Considering that Kojima had a non-compete until like two days ago, we're unlikely to see anything from him for at least two years, and even then it'll be another year after that before it actually comes out.
I was hoping for another Metal Gear or Silent Hills game, but I'm sure whatever game is made, will be awesome since it has Kojima and staff behind it.
I like the logo, it's edgy, defies conventions.
Edit: to me it looks like it could be a ZOE helmet.
