I've been seriously slack on my review duties so I need to mop those up this weekend. I've also decided to give The Witness a try. To be honest, I don't think it's going to be for me, but the game's receiving enough rave reviews for me to give it a try.

My gaming time this weekend will be spent banging my head repeatedly against The Witness. So far, Mr. Blow's hand-crafted puzzles have made me feel like the village idiot on more than one occasion, but I won't be beaten, even if it takes me the rest of 2016.

I still really want to return at least some of my attention to Fallout 4, but honestly between my desire to continue playing Rainbow Six: Siege and the fact that I am thoroughly engrossed in the incredible The Witness means that's probably not going to happen any time soon. Especially with Unravel and Firewatch very close to release. There just simply isn't time.

If I am to be the weapon to surpass Metal Gear, I must continue my forays into the Afghanistan desert this weekend in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. After all, Miller keeps calling me over the Codec. Can't ignore his pleas to go on missions. However, if I deviate from that course of action, I think I might just purchase The Witness and give it a go, but I might wait for a possible physical release. We'll see.

I'll be blasting through Uncharted 2 in Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection this weekend, trying to collect as much treasure as possible before I inevitably give up. I'll also make sure to fit in some The Division Beta as well, just to see what the fuss is about, and play some Rocket League with fellow Push Square staffers and the community.
Simon Fitzgerald, Reviewer
This weekend I will be going for the Platinum on The Witness [We have a certified genius in our ranks - Ed], all I've got left to solve is the end puzzles and the special secret ones. Other than that it'll be a bit of LEGO Marvel's Avengers.
Stephen Tailby, Reviewer
Seeing as I can't seem to get the darned game out of my head, I'll be continuing my quest to solve the many puzzles of The Witness. Then, when my brain is frazzled and I need a break from thinking so hard, I can always go have fun playing football with a rocket car instead in the ever entertaining Rocket League.

So, I have to ask is it odd that for the umpteenth week in a row I will be playing Call of Duty: Black Ops III? I can now see why this genre is so popular. I can say I am certainly eating a huge piece of humble pie.
So, thank you for reading, guys. Remember to leave a comment in the space below, guys, and tell us what you're playing this weekend, guys. Until next time, guys.

With CoD:BO3 having double XP on MP and Zombies, I expect this will occupy the majority of my gaming time this weekend. Looking forward to the first DLC drop on Tuesday too so I can see this being my primary game for the next week or so.
Finished Bloodborne, so I removed the PS4's hard drive to fix my ps3 and take a relaxed break with Jojo's Bizarre Adventure for the moment!
On Fallout 4 I have just reach the point where being a Brother of Steel really matters (you onow what I mean, up in the sky....). It got me hooked till 5 am yesterday night.... So more fallout for me and a bit of lootfest on my beloved Borderlands HC...
Just bought Life is Strange and having finished the first chapter I'll be playing a bit more of this. Other than that I'm gonna finish Resident Evil remake and I've just started Transistor so a pretty full weekend. No doubt Rocket League will also make an appearance
Mass Effect 2 for me. Maybe a bit of ME3 if I finish ME2. I might start up If my Heart Had Wings on Steam as well.
I really, really want to love the Witcher 3. But I find the load times offensively long, and I don't understand why they mix level 30 content in with level 7 content so much. I really hate running away from challenges, but just going along the road for a random level-appropriate quest will run me into a high level ? with mobs I can't beat. Really ruins the fun and immersion to be a badass witcher who just runs away. Worse is in the city when you get a quest from someone like the hittori hanzo reference guy, and it turns out the quest you just started is 14 levels too high for you, without having been given warning. Also there is too much admin, imo. ALSO not enough combat.. . combat:talking ratio may be realistic but not as fun.
I started Persona 4 Golden during my commute at the same time as the Witcher, and I hate to say it but p4g is a much much better game - and I'm not a huge jrpg fan.
Language -Tasuki-
@Mega-Gazz The talking bits are the best bits, though. Having said that, don't you dare criticise The Witcher 3 - @Sub12 is coming for you!
I have somehow gotten sucked back into a fresh play through of Terraria on ps4. Not sure how this happened.
ESO and The Division
I've just purchased uncharted collection so having never played a Uncharted game before will be def getting into it at some point... I've also got a 1920s themed birthday party to go to so hopefully it will be hangover cure tommorow
Hopefully I get some gaming done this weekend.... Games I hope to get around to are: Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D, Tearaway Unfolded, and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Toukiden: Kiwami on the Vita and Metal Gear Solid 4. Glad to be chipping away at my backlog! Have a good weekend everyone!
Witcher 3 still and wondering if I should download the story DLC?
@sham8nix Lucky you, enjoy!
2 and 3 are much better than 1 btw...
@get2sammyb True the talking bits are great, and they've put in so much creativity and detail. Loved the botchling. Loved the godling near the crones. But having to run through a village full of skull-level ghouls to get to my level ~7ish "fix the shrines on the side of the road" quest is just bad level design. Sorry, it is.
I've really got back into Fifa and it could be because I've been unbeaten online in FUT for 15 games, 13 wins and 2 draws. I gave up on it before after going on a ridiculous loosing streak but I seem to have found the right team and formation for my play style. And I don't know if to go back to my Fallout 4 save and mop up the few things I want to do and get level 50 before I start a new melee character.
World of Tanks, Stars Wars: Battlefront and if I can fit it in, Uncharted 2
Finishing up getting trophies and in Uncharted 1 and starting the second game I'd imagine.
Resident Evil:Revelations for me.
Started playing through Dishonored:DE, enjoying it so far, only as far as the second mission but I'm really digging it. I'll also get some Chivalry and Rocket League with a dose of Final Fantasy IX on the Vita in too
NHL 16...... Again. But not till Sunday as I have an SEN 3 day suspension because I sent a message to someone with an expletive in it in retaliation to then insulting over voice chat as I was kicking their butt.
He obviously complained with a grief report.
What a damn loser he was, is and always will be.
@sham8nix Im 20% through unchartered 2, playing it myself right now. The collectibles are all over the place in this one you have to shoot them down unlike the first game.
@Jaz007 That's one of my favourite games ever - smoking man would be a conservative (Republican in your country) in this time period. I'm sure its David Cameron after a face lift.
@Clay_Davis83 thanks clay you too. Never played much of mgs 4 but love 1, 2, 3 and phantom pain. May have to lend my sister in laws ps4.
I'm playing unchartered 2 and need to play @Quintumply to finish off the PushSquare rocket league.... League. We are about to start a doubles championship on Tuesday the 9th of Feb to find out the best pushsquare team. Well done to @Jevon for winning the singles and @idangermouse_ for second place and @shane for 3rd. Great cup everyone should get involved in doubles!!!
Fueled by my Project Mirai obsession I went and got Project Diva F 2nd on PS3 to compare them. So far I am preferring the 3ds outing. And today is Luka's birthday!
Mp I got the Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection for Golden Axe and Streets of Rage.
PSP: WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2006, LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy
Xbox 360: Rayman Raving Rabbids
Windows 10: Age of Empires: Castle Siege
I'll be enjoying time in Madden 16, getting ready for Super Bowl 50 by playing one of my ever lasting seasons. My friend also just got Star Wars Battlefront, so I'll be showing him how to become a Jedi like he's my padwan. I may put some time in for NBA 2K16, but may not feel the desire to. And finally, after two weeks of struggle, I will be finally finishing up the last level in Just Cause 3. Other than that, I may be putting in some extra gaming that will probably be unplanned, as usual.
I may also go and get the Uncharted Collection finally, since I've never played an Uncharted game before, I want to get in some time with the previous games before starting the new one. I may also decide to get The Escapists on my PS4, since I loved it on my PC. And finally, I may preorder The Division so I can try the beta.
Got the week off work next week. Plus kids in school and wife at work so.... Need to finish batman, do the cod campaign then it's the Nathan drake collection followed by wolfenstien and God of war 3, that's a great plan not sure I'll be able to pull it off as I'm sure my wife's list will be longer but a guys got to dream hey.
Just started divinity on ps4 and absolutely loving this game I'm a huge rpg fan, I love the way u can use the environment to your advantage and I quickly realised on my first fire spell wen I killed the undead while accidentally burning the cap out of my companion, who happened to be stood in a pool of oil. The game is difficult even on normal.will be putting in some serious time into this title. If I get the time wen I'm at my fianceè I shall be playing borderlands 2 on the vita which is a bit buggy bt still brilliant an as enjoyable as the ps3 classic.
DCUO on PS3
It's mostly going to be Genesis games for me. I'm trying to get the Chaos Emeralds in Sonic 1 and am getting super agitated from it. I wouldn't be surprised I got Tekken invites though. With Nina finally being in Tekken 7, I've decided to pick her up, which will be both fun and a pain in the neck.
@Anchorsam_9 If you're gunning for the treasures, I definitely recommend searching every nook and cranny, because many of the treasures are tucked in spots far away from the action. They are also on roofs as well, marked by sparkles that don't blink out like they do on the ground. Also, there is a treasure in chapter 5 (Urban Warfare). The game doesn't say it, but there is one, way off the beaten path.
Downloaded Wolfenstein The Old Blood and Tomb Radier Diffinitive Edition so will be playing those. As well as having my head explode in The Witness.
The Witness I 've activated all the lazers now. I'd love to be all smug and it was easy but it was actually really hard.
36 special attack stand between me and the DBX platinum so I hope to at least knock off a third of those this weekend. Maybe another level of my first run of Lego Avengers or a few replay levels towards my 100% of Lego Harry Potter 5-7.
The Division. The Division. The Division.
I'll be hoping to win my football bets so I can buy Lego Marvel Avengers xD
Just platted Fallout 4, so as I eagerly await the DLC, like many of you, I will be playing Uncharted 2 on PS4. I am going to get as far as I can in it today. I've played the series on PS3 before, but wanted to replay them because they are such good games and the Uncharted 4 hype is real. I might get some Lego Batman 3 in as well.
Got back into GTA V, having completed it on PS3 I now need to do the same with my PS4 copy. The last of those stupid Riddler puzzles and trophies are also staring at me, mocking me. God I hate them but it's the only thing I need to do to finish off the whole Arkham Knight campaign.
I'm finishing up Assassin's Creed Unity and then probably start Witcher III on new game plus.
I also may play Fallout 4 today. I beat the main quest line a while back and now I'm just wandering and doing side stuff. I need to replay 3 and NV on my PS3 soon. Also need to start Mass Effect up again.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Lego Star Wars and Dark Souls 2.
DS2 is laughably poor when you compare it to Bloodborne. I know you shouldn't compare games but Bloodborne was fun to play - even when it was hard and you died. I seem to either die through not being able to use my sword because there is not enough room or bad camera angles or being stuck. Hoping to enjoy this by sticking by it.
Will decide on DS3 as to whether it is like Bloodborne or DS.
@Mega-Gazz @get2sammyb
That's right, any negative talk and or viewpoints of the Witcher 3 will not be tolerated. Any violaters will be subject to the obnoxious tedium that is the game Journey on full repeat,.....until their brains turn to mush from the boredom.
@Mega-Gazz It's not just you bud. I tried to love this game, and it was probably the first game of this gen I was really really waiting for. Alas, I just couldn't force myself to finish it. Something felt off about it and I still can't figure out what that is. Anyways, I found Fallout to be MUCH MORE enjoyable, and at least with Fallout I am given a reason to amass so much junk!
Fallout ftw. On the second play through and have found literally dozens of new quests, locations and things to do. Also figured out how to tag materials so it highlights in the junk. Really think Bethesda did an amazing job with this one, can't wait for the dlc and ps4 mod support.
PS3 - Yakuza 5
Xbox One - Rise of the Tomb Raider
@SonyInfinity
Fallout 4, great game, but......for the unbelievable amount of hype this and MGS 5 had during 2015, it was great to see the Witcher 3 swoop in during Dec and annihilate them both in critical acclaim!!!
Just picked up Uncharted Collection from the store, €30 was too good to turn down! I'll get cracking into it when it's downloaded. Coming from Xbox I can't wait too play these, doubt they'll top Tomb Raider though.
@sub12 I still personally believe that Witcher 3 won said critical acclaim because of the way CDPR represented themselves. The big deal made about the DLC, the discussions on non DRM, and their general openness to media when it came to game development etc. I think they garnered quite a bit of good will for themselves, mostly rightly so, and the gaming media in general just lapped it right up like thirsty dogs.
Was the game great? Sure it was. Was it a one of kind masterpiece and greatest game of this and last gen like many proclaim? Not even close. The loot system alone drove me crazy, among a multitude of other things. Look, it is an awesome game, but I wouldn't put it on any top ten greatest lists and I think in a few years many more will agree with my sentiment.
I also think that to much emphasis is placed on Story these days. I do believe a good, original story is important, but I believe fun and addictive game play that keeps bringing me back is more important. IMHO Fallout is superior because of how it "feels" while I am playing it, and I could never seem to get that feeling from Witcher. All opinion of course.
@Mega-Gazz You are not the only one who feels this way about the witcher 3. I agree with every complaint you brought up. I know lots of people love it but I just couldn't make myself get into it. To each his own I guess.
@SonyInfinity thank god I'm not the only one. I just don't get the witcher. It seems like I'm going crazy sometimes. So many people love it and as you said I'm not really sure why but I don't quite like it.
We should start a support group for us weirdos who don't like the witcher.
@tenderbeefcake Yes, it seems we are the minority for sure, lol. In all honesty it is just boring. I mean the story lines are good and all, but the meat of it, the combat, is severely lacking IMO. The magic is hovering near useless Alot of times, and the melee combat is clunky at best. I just can't get into it.
Mostly, The Division Beta and Toukiden: Kiwami. Spent a little time on Rocket League as well.
@SonyInfinity
Compared to Bloodbourne the combat is severely lacking in the Witcher 3. But then I think that pretty much every game pales into insignificance, combat-wise, to Bloodborne, even, as I said, Dark Souls 2. That should be the industry minimum.
The Witcher 3, in its defense, doesn't have the worst combat either. But it could be better.
@sub12 Journey? Nooooooooooooooooo
I'll be continuing Max and Monica's time altering journey in Dark Chronicle. I'm loving the game and especially the music all over again.
@john_c Ya, to be fair leading into the witcher I played Dark Souls 2:Sotfs, followed by bloodborne, followed by replaying the handsome collection so the bar has been set pretty high.
@SonyInfinity Agreed
Hands @SonyInfinity a copy of Journey,............I'm sorry it's come to this.............
@sub12 Had my fill of Journey back in the ps3 days, and quite enjoyed it. Even got the white outfit for infinite floating lol. I thought the moving and floating mechanics were quite fun in that game, giving it a good game play hook to go along with the somewhat convoluted story.
@tenderbeefcake I also think that the over saturation of the fantasy setting in gaming today has led to my overall apathy towards the Witcher. I once adored fantasy type games, and I may well again. Right now I have burned myself out on them and have found more fun in the Sci Fi setting.
@Rapid Divinity is 2015s best game IMO it does start tough for sure. Lack of healing spells and resurrection scrolls in the first chunk of the game.
@TheMightyPunram and with good cause.
Ban lifted and I'm back online with NHL 16 tonight looking for the loser that is "BigZ12"
I swear I've seen that fellow kids picture about 100 times already and I just noticed his shirt
Anyway, is it bad that I'm only now playing Infamous: Second Son? I'm wondering what I should get next; I've already finished Bloodborne, I loved the combat, world and especially the theming and atmosphere. I wish there were more video games themed around cosmic horror, Bloodborne was done so well and Sunless Sea did it quite well too.
@TheMightyPunram are you kidding? Gives me a rush
@VenomSnake08 Is Unity worth a playthrough? I played all the other ones but I was planning on skipping Unity and just diving straight into Syndicate since I just got a PS4 recently.
@KashMoney Honestly yes I enjoyed it. Story overall was solid and I encountered barely any glitches and the fencing style combat is awesome. Only annoying thing is the multiplayer missions that are scattered throughout the game. I mean if you're into MP it's totally fine since you unlock armor parts and stuff when you beat them. Ubisoft however dropped MP in Syndicate which personally made me happy.
