It may be a new year, but the same old WAYP you know and love is back for another 12 month run. With this week's edition, feel free to share some of your gaming resolutions alongside your immediate itinerary – we'd love to know what you're planning to achieve on PlayStation in 2016.

I'm still playing Fallout 4, but I'm reaching the tail-end of my adventure now. I've been addicted to this game right through the Christmas break, but despite that, I do think that it's got lots and lots and lots of issues. Nevertheless, there's something compelling about the loop of a Bethesda RPG – even if it does feel like it's about to fall apart any minute.

I've been absolutely hammering my PS4 over the holidays, and the gaming marathon isn't going to stop this weekend. I'll be striving to finish off Tales from the Borderlands – even if I find some of the characters to be insufferable – and I'll no doubt be sinking some time into BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma Extend, which offers some fantastic multiplayer fun. To top it all off, I'll be hoarding materials in Fallout 4 so that I can attempt create the ultimate settlement – if I could cut down every tree in the Commonwealth to fund my insanity, I would.

The jolly chap in red scuttled down my chimney and planted a crisp copy of Fallout 4 under my tree. As such, the festive season has been radioactive and will continue to be as such for what I'm anticipating to be a very, very long time. The world is expansive and rich while the gameplay is far stronger than Fallout 3 or New Vegas and the settlement building is gloriously addictive. This was so worth the years of patient waiting. Wait a second, I don't have a chimney? Happy new year folks!

I recently booted up my PS3 with the intention of playing the PS2 game Star Wars: Racer Revenge, but I became distracted by Gunstar Heroes instead. Perhaps reading the 'Ultimate Guide: Gunstar Heroes' in Retro Gamer Issue 148 was still fresh in my mind, but I won't skip on an opportunity to re-battle Seven Force.

I'm currently in Virginia for the week celebrating the New Year with friends, and after launching fireworks in their front yard with the approval of neighbours, we're spending a few more days together playing Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, mixed in with Trine: Enchanted Edition and some competitive madness with Nidhogg and Super Smash Bros. Wii U. It's all made for a grand time to start out 2016!

This weekend I'll mostly be slogging through all of the games I got over Christmas, whether it's continuing the career of a much stronger, less disappointing version of me in WWE 2K16, or having my heart melted by the papercrafted goodness of Tearaway: Unfolded. I'll probably slip in some FIFA 16, too, to celebrate Liverpool inevitably overtaking Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday. [Current score lines suggest otherwise, Sam! - Ed]

My new year weekend will be action packed as I look back rather than forward with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, supplemented by some Star Wars Battlefront multiplayer. If that's not enough explosions, I can always blow the living daylights out of Medici in Just Cause 3. You could say that I'm starting off 2016... With a BANG. (Sorry.)

Happy 2016 everyone! I will be going a bit old school this weekend with The Simpsons: Hit & Run, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, and Knights of the Old Republic II – all on the original Xbox [Que? - Ed].

Well,I bought I am Bread and War of the Monsters to have some fun this weekend. I will also finish AC Syndicate and play some Battlefront
I'm still playing fallout - I think I'm getting closer to the end. I also just started playing the order last night and I really like it so far. Not mind blowing or the best of 2015 but I'm enjoying it.
SAO RE:Hollow Fragment, Final Fantasy Type-0 and Dragon Ball XenoVerse
Yo Kai Watch and Xenoblade! Ps4 is down until Digimon Cyber Sleuth!
I'll have uncharted 2 finished today so I think I'll go ahead and play through Uncharted 3 and finish the collection might dip my toes back into fallout, only played a few hours of it but I'm starting to get into it, the world is so inviting for exploration!
Don't have any resolutions, gaming or otherwise, didn't really think about any. I guess I might try to clear through my Vita backlog, maybe try to have 10 games knocked off it
I've been playing Stronghold 2 on my laptop a lot, mainly holding off NPC armies. Love building my settlement up and making my castle impenetrable, then moving out and slowly making an empire! ( I wish there was a game like this on the PS4) I've also just got Star Wars The Force unleashed 2 on the 360 because I remember playing the first one, the story and combat were great. Its pretty fun tearing up Storm troopers so far! Hoping to pick Chivalry up over the next few days aswell so I can get back to my PS4 and slice some heads off.
I'll be playing Infamous, Tekken, and Pokemon mostly this weekend. Been doing volunteer work during the holidays so I'm just happy to get some game time in.
Today is a multiplayer game day, so Star Wars Battlefront, COD: BO3, and Yoshi's Wooly World with my girlfriend. Then tomorrow will either be Fallout 4 or Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Toukiden Kiwami.
It's the closest Monster Hunter like game I have found on PS4. I still like MH better but it's good fun.
SAO Re:Hollow Fragment, J-stars victory +, FIFA 16, and some Deception V. Sprinkle a little Dark Souls 2 and bit of Guitar Hero.
I have too many games to play and such little time to play, got the following for Xmas and havnt even started most of them, star wars battlefront, witcher 3 and fallout 4, also got Disney infinity for the kids 😉 at least those four games aren't too long to complete 😆 dunno which one to pick.
Final Fantasy XIV (PS4) lvling up my white mage
Shovel Knight (PS4) trying to get platinum in this game
Final Fantasy X (Vita) love this game, decided to replay it on the Vita
Mortal Kombat X (PS4) will be starting the story mode
Been playing Rainbow Six Siege BUT the servers are crappy!!
Just cause 3, loving blowing the stuffing out of medici even tho I'm supposed to be saving it....
Also some battlefield 4 (as usual )
@Sham8nix Watch the language -Tasuki-
@Midzark me too, if you can ever get on a game have waited for over 5 mins once, then finally had a full game and everyone quit! Good game though.
Probably CoD:BO3 MP and Zombies. I might jump onto Fallout 4 on my XB1 but I don't know that I want to spend all weekend on it which will undourably happen if I put it on...
Final Fantasy XIV and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
I just finished the Uncharted Collection. Played through all 3 (for the first time) in a week. Now I'm speed running through UC2 because it was so awesome.
So far it's been almost non-stop Saints Row IV re-elected with my friend. I don't know why I didn't buy this game before! Plus I'm sneaking in some Just Cause 3, Dragon Quest Heroes, and some Black Ops 3.
@hYdeks Shovel knight is hard.. Kuddos if you make it
PS4: Wolfenstein Old Blood & MGSV The Phantom Pain.
Well I just finished the plat on Skylanders Superchargers this morning; so plat 1 of 12 for 2016. After making it to 12/12 last year, I've just decided to make it a yearly goal. I guess the rest of the weekend will probably be a little Gat outta Hell, finish training with Android 18 on DBX, maybe a few matches of Rocket League and possibly finally throw Bloodbourne into my PS4. Somehow I got the game at launch and have yet to play it, but with it winning game of the year here I should probably push it up my pile before Digimon comes out on 2/2/16.
@JamieO gunstar heroes!!!
I'm putting Until Dawn on right now!!
Going to start Rainbow Six Siege tomorrow when I get back from Ireland, read and heard so many great things so can't wait to get stuck in and probably get killed a lot. The wife started the Witcher and is an hour or so in so there might be a bit of a fight for the controller unfortunately 🙄
Getting close to finishing steins;gate (loving every minute). An almost finish witcher 3, but will buy the dlc this coming week.
@Sanquine I love these kind of old school games, and I'm actually only a couple trophies away from the platinum
Yakuza 5 and going back to Rise of the Tomb Raider to try the new endurance mode.
Like the picture at the beginning of the story and Victor I remember spending New Years 2002 with friends playing Simpsons hit n run, thats how we found out you get special vehicles on holidays (Krusty's clown car for New Years). This year we played Super Mario Maker and Star Wars Battlefront.
Started The Witcher 3 again as I feel like it deserves a second play through. It's even better than I remembered thanks to the patches and actually knowing what I'm doing now.
@Ps4all I didn't know they had special cars for the holidays, was that in a particular version or in all versions? I do know that if you change the systems date to either October 31, December 25 or the fourth Thursday of November, the game menu will have a Halloween, Christmas or Thanksgiving theme.
@Johnnycide Mlerrrr...okay good shout I'll give it another go too, It was great in a lot of ways but kinda got bored of it on Skellige but maybe now the dust has settled and it's all patched up I'll enjoy it more.
17gb patch is saying 50 minutes so might even get to play it tonight!
@kyleforrester87 I've had the odd framerate stutter but nothing too bad. I really liked Skellige. They're my kinda people being a northerner (and having lived in Ireland for a bit), and Cerys is one of my favourite characters. Without spoiling anything, push on past Skellige and it's very, very, rewarding indeed.
@Johnnycide I hail somewhat from the north too (North East Lincs) haha. Nothing against Skellige, in particular, just felt like I'd seen enough at that point. Actually, I made it back to Witcher HQ after being in Skellige for a while. We'll see, I'm optimistic!
Skellige seems to be a bit divisive. I've had a few friends who gave up as they didn't like it, I did though.
Hope you have a blast on it this time anyway!
@Tasuki My bad. I meant Simpsons Road Rage. And i was on ps2.
You could edit the date for different cars.
@Ps4all Ah ok, I only played Road Rage a few times, it was too much like Crazy Taxi gameplay wise and I am not a fan of that kind of game play. You had me thinking that there were hidden cars in Hit N Run.
Just got around to Hyperdimension neptunia rebirth;3 and of course Super Mario Maker
@Sanquine getting soft you Remy! I finished Shovel Knight the other month then went through the Plague Knight DLC over X mas. FOR SHOVELRY
I'm currently still plodding through The Witcher 3, just redeemed my DLC code so hoping to have the main story finished off this month. Xenoblade Chronicles X on the WiiU & Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon on my 3DS (via original DS cart) are currently my major time sinks.
Also reading alot lately as i'v just started picking up The Witcher novels, highly recommend for anyone who loves the games.
