Ask many a Dragon Age fan who David Gaider is and they'll probably point out that he's partly responsible for bringing BioWare's fantasy role-playing series to life. Gaider's typically great writing can be found in all three Dragon Age titles that have appeared on PlayStation platforms. He also wrote numerous novels and comics based on the franchise.
With his work on Dragon Age being such a success, it's a little sad to hear that Gaider's moving on to pastures new, having announced on Twitter that he's leaving BioWare after an impressive 17 years of service. Although the reasons for his departure are unclear, he states that "I'll miss my team, and wish everyone here the best."
Naturally, we hope Gaider finds greatness in whatever he decides to do next.

Damn. Gaider was to Dragon Age what Karpyshyn was to Mass Effect. DA will never be the same again
People can not leave Bioware fast enough these days. One again sunk it's disgusting claws into a company and completely destroyed it. No reason to be hyped, at all, for Mass Effect: Andromeda or any game with the Bioware name as long as it part of EA.
@ApostateMage Karpyshyn is back at BioWare as far as I know. Not sure what he's working on, though.
@ShogunRok I wasn't aware. Here's hoping it's for a new KoTOR game or a PS4 version of The Old Republic.
Probably just for an expansion or something though.
That's s pity. I'm a huge fan of the series. Origins and inquisition are great RPGs. The second game on the other hand is not so great. Hope we see the next installment announced soon.
i wasnt that impressed with the story telling bar the first one. hopefully it can shake things up and get better storytelling with whatever happens in da next
Yea the story in Inquisition didn't feel all that special to me, not like Origins anyway. Dragon Age needs a SERIOUS overhaul IMO to keep it relevant. I wish they would take it toward a Dragons Dogma direction, that would be awesome.
The guy works well with others but I tried reading one of his novels and it's not very good, clumsy is the closest word for how I feel about them..
DA2 gets a lot of flak but I thought some of the writing was pretty decent. I loved female Hawke too.
@ApostateMage Agree for the most part, DA2 isn't the train wreck that many paint it as. Is Origins better? Definitely, but DA2 certainly isn't terrible. Solid 7/10 I reckon.
