Did you decide to take part in Destiny's Valentine's Day-themed event over the weekend? Crimson Days allows Guardians to set up two-on-two Crucible matches with the promise of some exclusive rewards, but we've read some horror stories with regards to the lovey-dovey loot - or lack thereof.
One of the big draws for this latest event was that you could snag a 320 light Ghost shell, so naturally, a lot of players have been jumping into the fray hoping to come across this neat piece of equipment. Of course, it's never been that easy in Destiny. Many Guardians have gone dozens and dozens of matches without once seeing a Ghost shell drop, and it's safe to say that Bungie's been bombarded with complaints.
Fortunately, the developer's done the right thing and tweaked the rules. Now, you'll simply have to complete seven Crimson Doubles matches and the 320 Ghost shell will be delivered to the postmaster by the 23rd February.
This is good news, then, but it's yet another example of Bungie being seemingly oblivious to making such a dumb decision in the first place. God knows how much time some people have already put into this event only to find that they could have had things so much easier had they just waited a few days for the studio to make this change.
It's probably also worth mentioning that the event comes to a close tomorrow, so if you're still eager to get that shell, you'd best find a buddy and dive in soon.

They could make it super easy and just have it appear on my account when I log on, then I wouldn't have to "waste time" playing the game to get my reward.
Seriously though, yeah we're playing for the loot and that'll always be a strong motivator, but if it's that terrible to play the game without it you should probably be playing something you actually enjoy doing instead.
@kyleforrester87 Well, this is the dilemma with Destiny, isn't it? Always has been. It's an incredibly fun game to play, but it absolutely loves to waste your time.
I see your point, but at the same time, Destiny could do so much more to be consistently rewarding. Stuff like this isn't going to win back lapsed players, and it certainly doesn't inspire confidence in what the future holds. In that sense, it always feels like Destiny is walking an incredibly thin line between being fun and taking the p*ss.
And let's not forget the light cap going up with the Spring update, so this is more of a "here you go guys, have a top light level ghost shell, that will be virtually useless as soon as the update goes live in a couple of weeks".
In any case, my and @ZeroXyko14 still had a wonderful time completing the bounties, i completed them on all 3 of my characters too, which netted me a few silly emoticons and a new sparrow! The mode itself is not quite to my liking, I'm real bad at small team tactics, which is why my Trials of Osiris attempts have been disastrous at best.
Anyone wanna carry me through to the lighthouse? Need the grimoire card.
@ShogunRok I do agree with you, it would be great if the game maintained a more consistent sense of progress but I never quite buy it when people say it's wasting your time, since that's the point of all video games and every other hobby really. PVP has existed for years with the only reward being that you end up higher on the score table, and players got enough enjoyment from this to keep them coming back. I wonder why that's not the case for Destiny, perhaps the PVP itself needs a massive over hall instead of simply tweaking the rewards you get for playing through a bunch of boring matches.
I do get what you mean, though. Better rewards will always make the grind more fun, even if it's not so bad to begin with.
@kyleforrester87 Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head, really. I think calling Destiny rubbish or saying that the loot system is outright broken isn't quite seeing the game for what it clearly is. Granted, it's never going to be to everyone's taste, but it obviously has something that keeps us playing - loot or not - and that's important.
But like you say, with a little more reward for your investment, what's already a good game could become great. Hopefully Bungie realises this.
I always have a lot to say about Destiny as it fascinates me how divisive it is haha.
Don't care, I enjoy it but I'm not going to bother grinding anymore
I rally enjoyed Destiny, a helluva lot and was dismayed to find myself tiring of the game around the new year time, despite having purchased and downloaded all the extras. I've been keeping an eye on developments but nothing yet has really grabbed me.
Aw no one is on my friends list at the moment looks like another event missed.

The
Grind
Anymore
I have NO interest in PvP for Destiny and even less interest in these 'events' - well the ones we have had so far!
In an unrelated note (well to these events), The lead writer from Mass Effect: Andromeda has left Bioware to join Bungie!! Destiny's lore is incredibly deep and rich even if the in-game use of it is shallow. Maybe with his appointment, we will see a lot more depth to the games stories in the future...
@ShogunRok I agree totally it should be rewarding with feeling like a waste of time. Things can be tough but still rewarding just like the cheap ass Halloween stuff.
