At this point, we have a feeling that practically everyone on the planet owns Minecraft two times over. The bricklaying blockbuster, which is a permanent fixture in the retail space as well, has dominated the PlayStation Store charts for January, finishing in first on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in North America, and pretty darn high in Europe, too. Not bad for a Microsoft owned outing.
In truth, it wasn't a particularly busy month for new releases, with Rocket League also faring extremely well. The Witness entered in eighth in North America and 19th in Europe, which is lower than we expected – but it was quite pricey, and launched right at the end of the month. We're sure that the positive word of mouth will keep Jonathan Blow's genius puzzler in the charts for a while yet.
DLC, as you'd expect, was dominated by Rocket League and Call of Duty, though Bloodborne: The Old Hunters fared incredibly well in both regions. And as for those PlayStation Classics: Crash Bandicoot continued to prove that there's a market for the marsupial in Europe, while various Grand Theft Auto ports hijacked the top spots in North America.

I tried it at a friend's house a few years ago. Not my cup of tea. Same friend's son loves it though.
I used to enjoy it on the xbox 360 and even bought it on PS4 played it a good few days straight with a friend but now I just cba... Probably because I ONLY build castles when I play that game, my imagination doesn't stretch any further.
I can't enjoy this game at all, but had I got this when I was eight and still capable of creative thought I'd have gone mad for it.
Tried it a few times, it's just dull. It wasn't cross buy so didn't get to try it on its perfect home the vita. Well done all.
Final Fantasy VII was super front loaded
I must be one of the few that doesn't own minecraft! My son loves but I really see no point in it myself!!
must admit I've never played any form of minecraft ever. Proud of it 2 lol
Never bought Minecraft. Looked up some info on it when it became a phenomenon but just doesn't look appealing to me.
Might try the Dragon Quest version if that makes it's way over here though. Ideally it'll have more of a story to keep me interested though...
I used to love using the cheat on sonic 1 where you could bring assets through and build levels. Spent hours making weird bases for Sonic to play in. Minecraft is that on crack.
I feel like the only Push Square reader that absolutely loves Minecraft. It gets so much hate just because it doesn't hold your damn hand
Then again, I love any game that uses world/level building as a major game play element, like LittleBigPlanet, Terraria, and Minecraft. I even remember spending many hours on games such as Excitebike (NES) and Mario Paint when I was a kid.
It's sad how the more advanced gaming gets, the more that players lose their imaginations and their creativity, it seems.
@Grockumus
You can't assume that people don't like it just because it doesn't hold your hand.Plus, even kids can play it.
I don't like the genre and the graphics. I rather play a game with a good story. I also rather see games like GTAV do well since they have a lot of content and don't just let you do all the work (which I get that it's fun for some people).
@Grockumus Minecraft is great. But alot of us here members of pushsquare don't have much time to spare, the game literally sucks time from you.
Its this simple Minecraft is like Lego but you are walking around your constructions. Anyone who says its boring, is likely to have limited creativity and be dull as dishwater. There's nothing dull about the 100ft penis waterfall in my town centre.
2 times over!
i own 4 copies of Minecraft one on my 360 (which is now broke), one on my XB1 (because it was cheap as i owned the 360 version), one on my PSVita (to play on the go) and one on my WiiU (to play in my room as my XB1 is in the living room, mainly used as a DVD/blu-ray/Netflix player if i'm honest)
I dont like it but that because I dont have the time for it or the patience for it. I tried LBP but it is not for me. If you like building stuff i think it will be great fun. And I am not that creative I try to be but Im not and somehow I still love indie games lol.
I loved Lego but not sure I was ever that creative with it. Minecraft allows peope to be creatives and some of the things people have made are truly remarkable. Just not for me.
