With both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive already (extortionately) priced, all eyes are on Sony and its PlayStation VR headset. Fortunately, we may be learning a little more about the accessory imminently, as the platform holder is inviting press to a special event on 15th March in San Francisco. The date coincides with the Game Developers Conference, of course, but it's unclear whether it will be held at the Moscone Center or at an off-site venue.
It's also not apparent whether the presentation – which is set to begin at 14:00PM PT – will be live streamed, but it will be followed directly by hands-on press demos, so expect new footage and impressions to pour out of the event. We'd expect tighter pricing and release date information to come out of this, so you may want to start auctioning off your internal organs, as there's a good chance the entry fee may be high.

Can we start a pool betting on the price? I'll go in betting on $399.99 with Sony taking a loss on the hardware to push Sales.
You had a great opportunity for the title "PlayStation VR Marches On"
I'll eat my virtual hat if they don't confirm price and release date at this event.
@Mega-Gazz I'd go for the same, but pounds rather than dollars, and including a bundle with 2 move controllers and a game.
I'm so excited!
I'm up for a friendly bet on the price. I'm saying no higher than 449.99 (+tax).
Expecting $399.99, which includes the headset, power box, PS camera, and a tech demo.
I honestly think at 400 they wouldn't take a loss, obviously wouldn't be much profit there but I still think at 400 there may be a tad bit of meat on the bone. People forget that Sony is a well versed hardware manufacturer. Think of all the viewers they have produced, and cameras, and move controllers, they can use their already preexisting tech to create their psvr. It's not like they had to make every part of it from scratch. Much of it was existing tech just assembled in a new way. I think this will allow Sony to reach a good price point and still make a little off each unit.
@MadAussieBloke sheesh, agreed!!!
Book it, March 15 WILL be the day we get pricing and release date, I am going with 400 and a June release date.
I'd guess £300 for the headset £400 for the bundle with the move controllers and camera
i reckon £400 for the headset and PU, and a separate bundle including the camera and 2 move controllers for £100, hoping its much cheaper than that, and closer to the £300 mark, personally i just need to get the camera, and i am all set to go,
ok so this thing is coming.........lets hope they bring a truck load of actual games to show too. i will give them my money but they need to show me some real games first.
I'm hoping for £299, but think it'll pip that with maybe some accessories lumped in to justify the price. Let's be honest, Sony have probably got a bajillion Move controllers littered around the place.
@KingofSaiyans Just try to hold on to your eyes; we don't want a Gift of the Magi (Sale of the Magi?) situation here.
Final prediction:
-Release: June 5th, 2016
-Price: $399.99 USD
-Includes: Headset, processing box, PS camera. Tech demo.
Time to get serious I guess. Looks like they'll hit "1st half of 2016" after all.
E3 is June 14-16, so probably the week before that.
£79.99 please Sony make it happen!
$400 sounds about right.
$350 for just the headset and $450 for headset, camera and move. Both bundles come with Rigs and Zombie Taxi Co.
@Neolit haha what is that? I think I'll stick with the Sony version 😉
a september 20th release date,
So did Pushsquare get an invite???
@Neolit I like Jonah Hill.
@Rudy_Manchego Hopefully for you its just a faze.If not I feel very sorry for ya!
@MadAussieBloke Does all of that come in the box?
Just been a leak online from Czech retailers. They are reporting an actual cost of 475-490. This sounds about right but I think Sony will get if down to 450 for the US.
@Neolit Leak online from GamePur.com states the actual price to be around 475-490 for the whole package. Just leaked a little bit ago.
@617Sqn Ha ha - fine oscar nominated actor surely?
