Capcom's released the first screenshots of Alex, Street Fighter V's first additional playable character. Originally appearing back in Street Fighter III, Alex is back for another round of busting skulls, and he's looking pretty hyped.
Joining the roster when the game's big March update goes live later this month, Alex is described as "a powerful grappler that can inflict big damage with his close range Power Bomb command grab and his long limbs to fight from midrange distances." His V-Skill has the burly brawler do some stretches, which powers up his next attack. His V-Trigger, meanwhile, sees Alex tear across the screen, unleashing a clothesline on his opponent. This particular move can apparently break guards, and, with the right timing, can even allow Alex to dodge an incoming blow.
Lastly, his Critical Art ends with his adversary's face planted firmly in the ground, following a devastating chop and a powerful hold that has Alex leap into the air along with his opponent. You'll be able to unlock Alex for free as long as you've saved up enough fight money.
How do you think Alex looks? Is he everything that you expected? Are you hyped to play as him? Overpower your foes in the comments section below.

Yes, looking forward to play as Alex, he's been sorely missed since SFIII!
He looks a bit different than I imagined but ok
Managed to accumulate around 260000 Fight Money so far. Wished I could beat more of the Normal Survival Modes, though. The difficulty really spikes starting on round 26 onwards and I've only managed to complete it on one character so far. :/
Looking good, I liked using Alex in SF3 and Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Even in a Fighting Evolution lol.
@WanderingBullet can you "pass the joypad" to another player online with sf5? I volunteer to clear normal mode with some fighters for you.
At a distance the first picture makes it look as though Alex has been shot and is squirting some sort of fruit juice from his body.

That out of the way, nice to see Alex back. Always kinda liked his Stun Gun Headbutt, looks like that's back too.
He'll probably have to take a backseat when I get the game, but I'm happy he's here.

He looks awesome, I wonder if Necali is the one that gives him the shoulder scars? Shame we didn't get a trailer though.
@adf86
He looks great, although tbh, his SF3 look is superior.
@sub12 I would agree, some characters are tricky to make a successful transition from 2D to 3D. Dhalsim for looked off in SFIV but in V he's spot on. I would have liked to see him rip his shirt off before matches like Hulk Hogan did since he was the main inspiration for the character.
@adf86 We'll probably get a trailer pretty soon. I'd love to see him in action.
Alex, Alex, Alex, Alex!
@Feena Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean...
To be fair, at times the liquid effects do kinda look cool but that first image at the top looks like fruit juice ad.
@WanderingBullet I think the real name of the function is share play or something like that - basically you can "invite" one of your Psn friends to play a game, virtually passing the joypad.
@Bliquid Bison is my nightmare too! And the fact that I am terrible at using him makes it even more infuriating >_<
Hopefully the new fighters and upcoming new modes will boost this game's popularity and I'm sure they will. It will be a constant seller.
@Feena I see, I've actually never tried the share play feature before which is why I didn't understood what you meant earlier, sorry.
As for Survival Mode, I really appreciate the offer but it's really not necessary. I think I'll wait for the Daily Challenges, hopefully they're not difficult. You can however add me though if you want to get easy wins on PVP.
@WanderingBullet Ok ^_^ and no problema at all - I do hope those other challenges come quickly! But we can try trials at least.
The one I am hyped for the most. Not a total fan of his looks here but I may main him.
From what I gather him and all DLC characters will cost around 100,000 fight money.
