Can you believe it? Persona 5 actually has a release date... In Japan, at least. Atlus' super stylish role-playing game will launch in the Land of the Rising Sun on the 15th September, which is 15 days before Final Fantasy XV launches worldwide. It's going to be a big month for PlayStation in Japan, that's for sure.
Obviously, this is one title that you don't want to import from Japan if you don't know the language - it'll no doubt be absolutely stuffed with dialogue. With that in mind, the wait for confirmed Western release dates continues - we just hope that we won't be left in the dark for too long.
Are you happy with this Japanese date? When do you think Persona 5 will arrive overseas? Don't joke about 2017 in the comments section below.

I wasn't able to catch the trailer so I'll have to wait til you guys post it!
You gits! That headline got me hoping, then I get here and read "in Japan", grr
Sony will be rubbing its hands with glee at September. Huge hardware sales in Japan on the way.
@get2sammyb no joke. They couldn't have asked for two bigger blockbusters to hit at the same time. Jeez
I think it's the first time I hope we get it at least a couple of months later hahah
Fine by me. I only will buy persona 5 because i have no interest in Final fantasy. Have to import though since well Europe..
If Sony have something like The Last Guardian launching in September as well as maybe Destiny's next expansion, it could be a massive month for PS4.
@Cowboysfan-22 Is Persona really a blockbuster? I think only Persona 4 Golden is the only one that sold over 1 Million.
Just think about those ps4 sales in September, cor Sony will be raking in the money.
@Xaessya I think he mens on the Japanese Market and surely these 2 are the most anticipated games there... I hole they somehow revitalise the home console market.
I'd definitely pick Persona if given the choice.
I'll wait as long as I need to for a western release.
I think at worst it'll be a January-Early Feb. Western Release, at best December.
I think I'll just import, seeing as this likely won't be coming west till 2017
Atlus at Square Enix: "Come at me Bro!"
Thats what's up. Less generic western AAA's and more JRPG's. Well, they don't have to have "less" generic western AAA games but, at least bring me more Japanese games.
This, Final Fantasy XV, Star Ocean V... these are the games that excite me. Will complement SMT x Fire Emblem (eh ehm, sorry, "Tokyo Mirage Sessions")- the "Persona game that's not Persona but still from Atlus and has awesome, crazy crossover stuff" nicely. Really, Persona 5 will be the main course but SMT x FE will definitely whet the appetite.
Oh, and I forgot about Valkyria Chronicles Remastered, and Last Guardian is coming this year too. And 2 Dragon Quest games on handhelds (along with a new Monster Hunter).
Sniff, sniiiiifffff.... ahhhh. I can smell those RPG's from here!
There's also Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse coming in Sept for the 3DS.
Hopefully they market P5 in Europe. Until I started reading PushSquare a couple of years back , I had no idea what Persona was.
It looks like gaming bliss, loads of mechanics and a colourful unique art style. Who doesn't want a piece of this?
