Sony's enjoying a real strong spell at the top of the UK sales charts, as Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is the latest title from the publisher to enjoy successive weeks at the summit. Sales for Nate Drake's latest did drop sharply after its record breaking launch, meaning that DOOM was clipping at its heels – but Naughty Dog's outstanding adventure just about held on to the number one position.
Elsewhere, Homefront: The Revolution entered impressively in third place, pushing Call of Duty: Black Ops III down into fourth. Valkyria Chronicles Remastered, the PlayStation 4 re-release of SEGA's strategy smash, assembled in sixth position, meaning that Ratchet & Clank dropped all the way down into 12th place this time. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection hung around in 36th.
Next week we're expecting Overwatch to leapfrog everything into first place, but hopefully Uncharted 4 can keep stretching its legs in the Top Ten until No Man's Sky jets off in late June. It's been a really good start to the year for the PS4, so let's keep our fingers crossed that it can maintain the momentum through the second half of 2016 as well.
UK Sales Charts: Week ending 21st May, 2016
- Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
- DOOM
- Homefront: The Revolution
- Call of Duty: Black Ops III
- Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright
- Valkyria Chronicles Remastered
- Tom Clancy's The Division
- Grand Theft Auto V

that's because it's one of the best games to come out so far this gen
I hope Doom is selling well. In being retro is so fresh and single player oriented. The game is pure fun and it really deserve some success. It is crafted perfectly.
@arnoldlayne83 It didn't drop by much week-over-week so looks like the word of mouth is pretty strong. It's looking like it's going to do well over time, rather than race out of the gate like Uncharted did.
I'm at chapter 6 of Uncharted 4 and i must say it's my favorite game till date. I love it so much.
@Sanquine Glad you're enjoying it! It keeps getting better as well!
Uncharted 4 isn't really doing it for me. It is spectacular and has some terrific attention to detail touches but it just isn't thrilling me much. I can't really put my finger on why but I suspect the gameplay has just become overly familiar for me.Saying that, I've just finished chapter 15 and that was a good one.
@JoeBlogs normally when i play a Uncharted game for the first time i do it on easy so i can experience the story better, then i play through it on Hard for the challenge
as for enemy tagging, i completely forgot about that because i never used it
UC4 sales are even more impressive if you consider the fact that Doom is multiplat and only charted for 3 days in the prior week so those are some week 1 sales that carried over.
Surprised that Homefront did that well in 3rd, given its negative reception.
@get2sammyb Sammy, by any chance, is it possible to know how many consoles have been sold since U4 has been released?
Doom really does deserves to sell well, same goes for Valkyria Chronicles.
@JoeBlogs or lobbing a grenade in the middle of a crowd of unknowing enemy's ^_^, it's always funny to watch them run in fear
@arnoldlayne83 Sadly we don't get data like that. Sony will have the metrics, but they're unlikely to make it public.
How in the hell is GTA STILL in the top ten, just utterly ridiculous. I feel like the longer it stays in the top ten the longer they will push out any new games.
@Majic12 yup, that's casual gamers for you. Keep breaking their discs when they lose - buy a new copy the next day.
Great to see Doom, Valkyria and Fire Emblem at the top table.
The top 2 are two of the best games I've ever played and to be released so close together has made it a great month to be a gamer. The PS4 has had some great games so far but I feel this pair have taken it to another level. Long may their success continue
@themcnoisy
Indeed.
Seeing Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and Valkyria Chronicles side by side makes me very happy. And Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest was just outside the top 10 too (think 11th place).
Strategy fans are getting the proper treatment this week in Europe.
@Sanquine
You haven't even hit the really good chapters yet, so you should like it even more as you go along further.
Valkyria Chronicles Remastered i really hope this game sells well. It a great game, not never got great number in the west on ps3.
