Berserk From Koei Tecmo Brings Blood and Guts to PS4, Vita

No Guts no glory

Omega Force, the developer of Dynasty Warriors and other action titles, is busy crafting a game based on Berserk, the rather mature manga and anime franchise. The dark fantasy property would certainly be a good fit for a musou release, so we're looking forward to seeing the project in motion.

All that we've got right now is a teaser trailer - which is a bit, er, risqué - but it at least gives you a feel for the game's atmosphere. Berserk launches this year in Japan on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Vita, but it's also confirmed for a Western release, where it'll bury its blade in PS4 and Vita - although no launch window has been given.

i wonder how much of the series will transfer over to the game after all Berserk has some, shall we say rather mature and nasty moments in it

I actually hope it's from software that makes berserk game with demon soul/bloodborne gameplay, I hope this one is good thought, and not just another musou game.

As in Sword Of the Berserk: Guts Rage? On Dreamcast, hopefully it will play a lot better than that did...

This is one of the most cruel, brutal and emblematic scene of the mangá, it's so good to see that Koei isn't shying away from show us the brutality that Berserk's world brings.
For anybody who doesn't know, this scene is about a demoniac rape and much more.

Oh and c'mon @Bliquid! This is what the world of Berserk is, complain about it is just the same to complain about it the rape in season 5 of game of thrones. It's not wrong (the rape and rape in general is always wrong, but that's in context in the fictional world), it's to be honest to the material, and I'm very glad that they are doing it.

@Bliquid Please if you read (and looks like you did it) you know how this moment is emblematic. It's the turn point for Guts, is what moves him for the entire saga after the Golden Arc and still this motivation even in later sagas as Fantasia (protect Caska bringing her to the elven land). And is the point where the second protagonist, looses her mind, heart, courage, love, everything. Even in Berserk this is the most brutal and cruel moment in the entire saga (and it says a lot), so it's so good and refreshing seen a company not shying away from get dark, real dark, specially TemcoKoei which show us a "happy to go" war usually.
