Yep, it's happened. Horizon: Zero Dawn has been delayed to 28th February, 2017 in North America and 3rd March, 2017 in Europe.
To help wipe away your tears, Sony has released a new trailer for the game, which focuses on Aloy and her journey.
As well as that, we've got our first glimpses at the Limited and Collector's Editions of Horizon.
Let's take our sobs and cries to the comments below.

Makes total sense. May as well move it out of the cramped holiday season, and use the extra couple of months to polish it to perfection.
The delay isn't as long as I was expecting to be honest - I thought it would end up being Fall 2017.
Glad it's got delayed, no point releasing it in the autumn. And shame about no rocket powered robo horse
I'm a sad.
The trailer's freakin' amazing to be fair. This looks so good.
Let's face it, we all knew this was going to happen right?
Yeah, had a feeling that would happen.
I'm ok with this, make it the best it can be and I'll happily have plenty more to play!
I've always thought having collector's editions for new IPs, that aren't even guaranteed being worth collecting, is a bit of aggrandizement.
The game does look really cool though.
Well, duh. Sony doesn't release games in the holiday season anymore and the next time a Sony-published PS4 game not named MLB The Show releases on time will be the first. Not disappointed because I saw this coming. Just get the story right is all I ask. Guerilla mde a cool universe with Killzone, story-telling sucks, however. It gets a pass for being a multiplayer-focused FPS. Horizon: Zero Dawn doesn't have that benefit, the story has to at least be strong and told well. Killzone 2 and 3 are both great games and Shadow Fall had fun gameplay but was held back by some poor level design choices. I'll give benefit of the doubt, at least for now, based on what I've seen, that this game will nail the gameplay.
People will be too busy playing brick breaker on their PSVR anyway...
Noooooooooooooo.... I hope it's rated teen because I can only play teen games. Anyone have any thoughts on the ratings?
@Gamer83 Gran Turismo Sport's coming out this holiday.
Early 2017 is cool, I said it will be out in 2017 + I rather them not rush it out for Xmas time like other gaming console companies do with all their Exclusive(half finished games) games to.
@get2sammyb
"The delay isn't as long as I was expecting to be honest - I thought it would end up being Fall 2017."
In case you haven't learned from the last 2 years, a March release date now = August release date come next year
I'm dead serious though.
A side-note, anyone kinda surprised by how much stuff is getting revealed just days before E3? I guess Horizon is a delay so maybe they didn't want that to be the focus of their main presentation but you'd think that a new trailer THAT good would be prime fodder for the Sony conference? Just seems a little strange, is all.
Good, it's stupid to release new ip in the fall with cod, battlefield, etc. In other news, that steelcase limited edition is mine
What cramped holiday season? I can't think of any non-shooter that is coming out this holiday. First NX and now this...I wonder which delay is next.
I really, really think I need that collector's edition. Ya. I need me some of that.
@SegaBlueSky
It's like black Friday getting pushed back to midnight and then getting pushed back into Thanksgiving day and so on. They're just announcing now because nobody else is, so they get more of the spotlight.
@JaxonH "In case you haven't learned from the last 2 years, a March release date now = August release date come next year"
You've been spending too much time talking to me. Please Understand.
Kind of feels like March is Sony's holiday. Bloodbourne, U4, now this.
SHE'S A TEST TUBE BABBIE, CREATED BY MACHINES PLAYING GOD! CALLED IT!
But yeah, looks EPIC.
@AyeHaley It doesn't matter. When you've got Battlefield, Call of Duty, Titanfall, and probably Watch Dogs all releasing within three or four weeks of each other, you step out of the way - especially with new IP.
I feel like no one's been paying attention to Microsoft's holiday launches this gen. They've put out so many flops, purely because they've released them at the wrong time.
Also, to the people saying this will be delayed again, it could be — but I don't think so. February release date suggests that they probably could have had this out in November, but decided to move it for polish/business reasons. It seems on track, because it's due out earlier than I expected.
@JaxonH More spotlight than a prime slot at Son'y conference, during the most important day of the gaming calendar? I can understand smaller titles doing that of course, but Horizon was a huge highlight for Sony last year and I'm just surprised it isn't this time around. Unless there's a big gameplay demo or something I guess. Or do Sony really have enough massive titles planned that they couldn't fit them in?
Never expected it to be out this year. Doesn't bother me, plenty of other games in the meantime.
This is easily my most wanted game and the delay was expected so I'm not too disappointed, not to mention it didn't do Uncharted any harm. It'll also help it get some much needed exposure away from the yearly updates that usually arrive before Christmas.
VR may be the only thing I purchase later this year
Any Game of Thrones fans getting a very Arya storyline feel from the video? Not the game itself obviously, but the voice over - the girl has no name.
The game itself looks like an Enslaved prequel - Monkey's Story. Or maybe a sequel where she's Trip and Monkey's kid? Eithr way works for me, I really liked that game. Well except for the horrible horrible ending, didnt like that one bit.
I will say, the writing whiffs a bit in this trailer, isn't it? Jury's still out on that aspect.
@SegaBlueSky I think they might show new gameplay at E3, I think Sony has learned the value a full game demonstration can do.
@SegaBlueSky
Eh, you have a point. I don't know, I guess it depends on how many other titles they are showing and how much confidence they have in this one. You can make any game look amazing in a trailer but whether it actually lives up to it is a different story entirely. I imagine it's possible they don't want to go onstage and showcase something that's not absolutely spectacular while pretending that it is because that just leads to a lot of upset people and backlash.
Of course that would imply this game isn't as good as it looks, but the truth is I'm leaning towards believing this game is going to be incredible so that would toss that theory right out of the window.
@rjejr Also don't forget infamous second son
But...but...but..2016
@get2sammyb
Which actually would be a big deal if GT Sport didn't feel on track to be entirely disappointing. It'll be nice showcase for VR I guess, which seems to be the only point in releasing it.
That trailer was freaking amazing! I don't mind it being delayed got plenty of games in my backlog that I have been itching to get to. There's no need to launch a new IP in such a crowded window, especially as all those games will likely find their majority player base on playstation.
Just get this game right this could become something truly special.
Also that box art...
Bloodborn was also released after Xmas which is a smart move to have a big game coming out when there isn't much else on offer, saying that other companies have also done the same so don't be surprised if some other games get delayed also.
@wiiware The only thing I know about 2nd Son is Delsin Rowe, and it takes place after inFamous 2. I think the good ending. Been avoiding it until I get myself a PS4.
Must admit that trailer has more hyped even though I am a little disappointed to see it slip to 2017 (even though I half expected it). The trailer reveals a bit more about Aloy and the story than previous announcements but certainly will be getting this - probably pre-order the Limited Edition although the statue looks cool - it would end up collecting dust...
Can't wait! You can tell E3 is less than a week away...
Okay everyone time to do the "long no" , ready?
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Epic. This may be my first pre-order ever.
ridiculously good trailer
As many expected, it looks good and i'm fine with the delay. If you noticed, they removed the colon from the title, wonder why?
BOOM! Uncharted 4 all over again.
But if it ends up as good as UC4 I won't mind the delay(s).
Can Sony release anything on time this generation?
I guess I'll be playing GT Sport this fall, pretending in my mind that it's actually the much more enjoyable Forza Horizon 3.
O.M.G! I want!!
@sub12 Get an Xbox, then?
from the trailer I gather that there would be humanoid enemies in addition to the dino robots? that makes the game more appealing to me
God this game looks incredible. Expected the delay, and I'm totally okay with it.
Anyways, clearly the twist is that she's a Decepticon
2016: Delayed until 2017.
It sure feels that way, doesn't it?
Just had the chance to watch the trailer - hoo boy, this is looking excellent. I actually don't care at all about the delay. I really hope Guerrilla pull this off, it could be something really special.
@get2sammyb
I had one, I might double dip when the XB1 slim is released this fall. Forza Horizon one and two are probably the most fun you'll have in a racer since Burnout Paradise. Driveclub was up there as well.
For F*cks sake man!!! Really?
Sony is so full of crap this gen. They delayed everything.
It looks awesome, but that script is pretty bad to be honest. I'm a little less hopeful for the storytelling now.
@banacheck well bloodborne didn't exactly sell too well.
A lot of people speculated about the inevitability of this delay, so I'm not too surprised to see it. The new trailer looks really cool, though, even if it was a bit lacking in the gameplay department... I'm sure we'll get more than enough gameplay at E3, though.
Glad to see development for this title going so well. I mean, even the box art looks awesome!
As with U4 the delay is expected and I want the game so bad but delaying will produce a better title so I dont mind.
@get2sammyb Is the Limited Edition exclusive to EU or UK only? Couldn't find it on Amazon.com (US).
@KAPADO
I wouldn't say Sony is full of crap but the release date nonsense needs to stop. They can announce the game early, that's fine with me, but they need to cut it out with release 'windows' that we all know are bullsh*t. The way it seems to go, at least for me as a multi-console owner, is MS dominates the holidays while Sony controls February-May. That four-month window is when Sony's first party efforts seem to hit. Don't mind it that way to be honest. Means there's always something to play and I'm not usually overwhelmed by too many games releasing at the same time.
