"We will no longer be introducing Zenny to Street Fighter V as a real money currency option," Capcom has stated in its most recent Street Fighter V update. "After extensive testing and development, we came to the conclusion that it was not necessary in order to carry out our original vision for the product. Instead, we will be utilizing the PlayStation Store and Steam stores to carry out real money transactions."
In-game purchases were supposed to have launched a while back, but they never showed up, and it looks like it's going to stay that way. As the above quote alludes, those looking to spend extra on characters, stages, and costumes will have to buy them directly from the PlayStation Store.
The developer's also outlined the pricing structure that we can expect:
- New Characters
100,000 Fight Money
$ 5.99 / € 5.99 - New Stages
70,000 Fight Money
$ 3.99 / € 3.99 - Alternate Stages
40,000 Fight Money
$ 1.99 / € 1.99 - Story Costumes
40,000 Fight Money
$ 1.99 / € 1.99 - Premium Costumes
$ 3.99 / € 3.99

Makes sense to me.
It all costs so much money! Not that much better than Smash Bros. though.
Typical. Fight money still takes alot of time to get so obviously they want higher the chance of people buying it. Just like every other major released game in recent time.
Was it worth season pass holders getting a season pass?
@SoakedCarrot
Yeah, the whole fight money thing is kind of a front for the grinding and eventual giving in to purchasing the DLC or buying a season pass.
It always felt a bit scuzzy because they always pushed the, BUT IT'S FREE!
(if your willing to grind an absurd amount, otherwise buy our seasons pass!)
@sub12 I'd rather this then the ridiculous prices WB charged for MKX fighters, it's why I waited till XL came out and probably what I'll do with Injustice 2.
@adf86 not to mention Smash Bros.
I think this choice makes perfect sense and it doesn't really take that much to get the FM to get all the DLC characters playing story / survival for every character
Well how about a 2d fighting game has all the characters at launch, with a proper expansion later on?
Look at the effort it would take for an Uncharted a mass effect or a witcher.
This is a basic game with hardly any arenas in this day and age. Its a disgrace.
Hope they release a bundle for all the non-season pass content.
