Megatron will be stopped for hopefully a reasonable cost when High Moon's surprisingly good Transformers: Fall of Cybertron lights our darkest hour on the PlayStation 4 at some undetermined point in the future. The ever observant Gematsu spotted a rating for the 2012 release on a Taiwanese ratings board, suggesting that Activision's porting the game to Sony's new-gen system. This source has been accurate several times in the past, so you can pretty much bet the Matrix of Leadership on this turning out to be true.
But it's not the only ancient Activision port that's been outed, as it looks like Marvel Ultimate Alliance and its successor may be joining the classic Transformers tale. We want to say that the original Marvel Ultimate Alliance was a PlayStation 3 launch title, so we're not entirely sure why that's got the nod ahead of Transformers: War for Cybertron, but maybe the publisher's trying to get the most out of the Marvel license before it all officially changes hands.

Fair enough I'm well into Transformers after Platinums effort
Maybe we could finally get MUA3...
@vegeta11
That would be so awesome! Although the games weren't perfect, they have so much potential. There are tons of heroes, all with awesome powers, you'd think one could make an excellent Diablo- esque game out of it. For all I care we get to make our own mutant/ super hero and mix and match powers and gear while we fight alongside the marvel characters we all love so much.
I think I read somewhere that Super Stardust Ultra is been made for VR, can't remember where though, sorry for going off topic.
War For Cybertron please! So much Soundwave, it's unbelievable!
So is it like a remastery or is Sony implementing backwards compatibility?
Marvel Ultimate Alliance = Childhood
I like Fall of Cyberton. Too bad we'll likely never get a sequel. Both that and War for Cybertron sold like.
I wish it was War and not Fall. I've not played War and since it's not on PSN I'm unlikely to be able to.
Hmm ... I wonder if the MUA is the Xbox's Gold version (the one which included characters like Venom) instead of the vanilla PS3 version. Still, I'd love to buy and finish these games on 1080p/60fps.
Excellent news - High Moon are, in my estimation, the standard bearers for my species' representation - refined control and satisfying mechanics - and superb atmosphere and production values.
The issue I have with the Platinum Games release is that the environments are more akin to arenas and despite being someone who grew up recording the G1 cartoons back-to-back on VHS as a kid, I actually prefer the artistic flair of the High Moon studios releases......this release on PS4 will be a day one purchase for me.
Bought both war and fall for ps3 march this year.
Why? It seems sorta pointless to me to re-release a game that was made so recently in Fall of Cybertron - although it is a great game. Oh well, I'd love to play Marvel Ultimate Alliance.
@adf86 Really? I'll look into that.
@Tasuki I assume they'll be remasters. PS3 backwards compatibility isn't ever happening because the CELL is too difficult to emulate.
THis game is amazing but I'm over remasters - just make a new one in the same aesthetic.
WELLL ITS OUT NOW IN AUSTRALIA, it popped up today, for $50 AU which half of a normal game on the PS store
