Dialogue options are talking their way into Final Fantasy XV - is there anything that this game doesn't have? As Noctis, you'll be able to choose how he responds during specific conversations both within and outside of the main story. Your choice will, unsurprisingly, alter how things play out, although we doubt that they'll ever have any major impact on the plot.
We also doubt that you'll be able to use dialogue options to shape Noctis' personality - as you would in titles like Mass Effect and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - but still, a little attention to detail can go a long way. That said, it would be funny to role-play as a total scumbag prince, so here's hoping that we can at least be horribly rude to people.

I feel like when a game gives you a standard "good" or "bad" dialogue option, it almost always hinders you to choose the bad. Less quests open up, etc. I hope this is a little more in depth than good or bad.
I enjoy canon because I like seeing the creator's intent with the story. Dialogue options are not a huge deal to me. Mass Effect was more about the overarching story and atmosphere, same with Witcher 3, for me.
They need some comedy dialogue options. Something that's been missing from Final Fantasy games for a few years now.
Now I want a trilogy as ME and The Witcher, and even FFXIII, but good in this case.
FF7 had dialogue options:
"Not interested."

@kyleforrester87 Don't forget FFVIII:

HAHAHA...yes, hopefully you can be "horribly rude" to people! Kinda doubt it, though, with the tone this game seems to be portraying.
I was hoping there was a video tied to this article (just a Japanese screenshot in the source link), but I guess we'll have to wait and see how this really plays out...
@ShogunRok HAHAHAHAH so true.
...yet it will still have more impact than any of the decisions in Telltale games...amiright?
*Disclaimer - I like telltale but I feel like it's the truth. haha.
What's good for me may not be good for noctis
Wow.
A feature from the 1980s.
So innovative.
The fact that this actually does warrant news makes me sad...
