One game that's been not-so quietly drawing plenty of plaudits over the past couple of weeks is Limbo developer Playdead's Inside. The puzzle platformer has been hoovering up 10/10 reviews like they're going out of fashion, and currently commands a 92 on Metacritic. The problem? It's not currently announced for the PlayStation 4.
While it's already out on the Xbox One and is due out on the PC this week, the Danish developer has said next to nothing about Sony's system. So we contacted the studio, and here's what it told us: "Our goal is of course to get Inside into the hands of as many gamers as possible, but we can't say anything about other potential platforms at this point."
It sounds very much like a timed exclusive to us, with a PS4 release planned down the line. The bad news is that Limbo took a really long time to hit PlayStation platforms, so hopefully the delay is shorter on this occasion. Oh well, we're sure that the game will still be brilliant when it does eventually arrive on a Sony system – you're just going to have to avoid spoilers while you wait.

As many gamers as possible...puts it on the least popular platform!
timed exclusives are barf.
If we wait long enough might we get it on psplus...?
Don't forget that timed exclusives are better than full on exclusives!
I just bought an Xbox One so will probably pick this up at some point
@mrobinson91 why didn't you wait for scorpio?
@viciousarcanum Because we literally know almost nothing about it, perhaps?
@viciousarcanum Well PS4 will still be my main console and just wanted a cheap Xbox to play some exclusives. Waiting for a console that doesn't even have a name yet and likely to be in excess of £600 didn't seem like the right thing to do
This game made me turn on my Xbone for the first time in several months. And mad was it incredible. I definitely hope this finds its way to PS4. As many people as possible need to play it!
@Neolit I was tempted by "bones" but just wanted as cheap an Xbox as I could get. Found one on Tesco for £180 (preowned) with Ori & Blind and Rare Replay. Seemed like a decent deal for a secondary console
Hope it does eventually make its way over, would love to give ti a try but don't think I'll be getting an Xbox anytime soon.
This game is an absolute masterpiece and I was annoyed I couldn't get it on PS4.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I just don't think timed exclusives work for anyone (and I mean both for any platform holder, not just sour grapes).
I think it kills hype, especially on non AAA titles. It means that fans of devs or franchises lose interest.
Meh, timed exclusives are fine. All companies do it, and in the case of something like Inside, Microsoft probably invested in it. I wished there could be a bit more transparency — i.e. it would be nice if Playdead could tell everyone when this is coming to the PS4 — but I understand why they can't.
I loved limbo, looking forward to this eventually showing up on PS4.
Same for Tomb Raider, they've still not announced a date? :S
Thats very good news I enjoyed limbo and wpuld very much like to play it. Right now its only 3 indies games that make me want to buy a xbone so its really not worth it for me to get one.
@gbanas92 same as me, I blew off that thick layer of dust and fired it up. It's great, but I think I prefer Limbo. The vague plot narrative of that game and overall aesthetic just appeals to the general weirdo in me.
Keep it, LIMBO was trash
Since the game's only 3 hour I think I'll buy it on steam and replay it again when it hit psplus.
@AhabSpampurse I loved Limbo, but I think I came away from this liking it even more. Some of the Orwellian ideas at play were too up my alley to not love this. I think I might have liked just about everything about Inside more than Limbo, which surprised me, because Limbo was a damn high bar to surpass.
@viciousarcanum um maybe because it's 1.5 years away?!
In as many hands a possible. Then it has to come to ps vita.
@brendon987 There's probably a good chance it will to be honest. I'm not sure how technically demanding it is, though - I'm trying to avoid media about it because of spoilers!
@get2sammyb I played Inside on the Xbox One. Fantastic game, hope it comes to ps4 soon.
As many hands as possible, you say? Vita owning hands?
For the love of Pete, I'd recently sold my Xbox One (saving for a new TV, seemed pointless keeping it seeing as I only turned it on for virgin) still I guess I'm getting used to these timed exclusives nonsense, can't wait for them to disappear though I'd wager they're here to stay.
@viciousarcanum Scorpio will run HTC vive meaning it will cost around £800, basically a gaming pc or steam machine without access to steam. Smart buy...
@mrobinson91 fair enough
