What do we have here then, Boss? Metal Gear Solid V: Definitive Ex has popped up on Amazon.co.uk, which, we assume, is some sort of Game of the Year edition. There's no information to be gleaned from the listing whatsoever, other than it's a product from Konami.
So, what would a definitive edition of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain include? Rabid fans are already speculating that it may feature the game's missing third chapter, but we'd seriously recommend tempering your expectations if you think the same. In reality, this will most likely include either Ground Zeroes, all of the Metal Gear Online downloadable content, or both, along with the base release.

probably just including Ground Zeroes like you said
i doubt Konami will actually put ANY effort into this
Well, at least they didn't call it GOTY edition.
Geralt of Rivia > Venom Snake, aka Big Boss, aka Punished Snake, aka another stupid alias.
I really don't have any interest in this at all.
@FullbringIchigo The only thing Konami will put effort into is removing Kojima's name from every cutscene credit. Then again, even Konami might not have the resources to scrub away his name approximately 18 billion times.
I doubt Konami will include all of the multiplayers' DLC. It'll probably have both Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain, like Mr. Ramsey said in the article.
You couldn't pay me to experience that mess again!
@ShogunRok +1
What, no rampant speculation that this box will advertise hi-res/better FPS for Neo on the box? I'm disappointed.
"Designed for Neo" sounds a little too Microsoft, but you get the idea.
I'm currently playing this and just recently made it to the second map. Really like it - but I don't see the point of this. I mean ground zeroes is important and a great way to get into phantom pain, but it was really restrictive and almost harder.
Missing third chapter? Was that corrected by dlc or do fans think the game is finished? Can't say much since I'm only like a third through the game.
@ShogunRok hahaha
@CloudNine Dont play it and miss out on the best stealth game ever made. But its your choice. Equally never have sex, experience swimming with dolphins or go on an 18-30s party in Ibiza. All your choice, but you dont have to do them.
@themcnoisy I've played it, I just meant that whatever they add wouldn't get me interested in this new edition
I skipped this game before because even as a Metal Gear Solid fan, I could not help but feel that open world isn't the right choice for MGS. Now maybe I'll get this game...maybe.
Hope it has chapter 3 but this Konami and Konami is Konami so [insert Jim Sterling catchphrase here]
@ShogunRok you know i wouldn't be surprised if they did remove his name from the game and to be fair, i wouldn't mind because it was in your face quite a lot
@FullbringIchigo @ShogunRok
You shouldn't see a person's name more than twice in an game, seeing it anymore than that (over 50!) becomes very annoying.
I reckon this is a simple GOTY edition (whether Konami goes the extra mile is down to them), which won't add anything to TPP's incredibly repetitive, boring, unsatisfactory & thin paper story.
The optimist in me hopes this adds something to the game to make it less of a disappointment - more cutscenes, a proper ending, an actual finished game.
The realist in me thinks this will add something to the game that only makes it more disappointing - Ground Zeroes, more pointless padding, multiplayer DLC nobody gives a fig about.
I'm a glass is half full guy, but I'm pretty sure it'll be the latter rather than the former.
Different box art and a free gambling token is my best guess.
Replaying the game now and while there are little nitpicks with the game, the stealth near dam perfect. Gonna gather Konami will bundle GZ and TPP together with some dlc costumes for £50, cause Konami.
@Punished_Boss_84 mess? Ive loved playing through MGSV
@GlynCR
Good for you, I hated playing though TPP.
I'll wait as I haven't played the game yet
@Punished_Boss_84 really? Why
@GlynCR
Unfinished story (the remainder of which was incredibly poor), repetitive gameplay (fun at a point), silent protagonist (poor justification), forgettable soundtrack, lack of engaging boss battles & There's absolutely no purpose to anything you do in the game, at no point did I feel engaged or even remotely interested in anything going on.
In short, it's everything an MGS game is not supposed to be.
@Punished_Boss_84 get what you mean about the story (put out like it was due to Konami/Kojima having a fallout), the gameplay was no different to any other open world games there all repetative to a point and i agree on the silent protagonist - what was the point of getting Sutherland in if he was gonna say nothing? Like i said i really enjoyed it wasnt as mental as a regular MGS but as a fan of the series i found a lot to like during my time with it
Still dip in now and do the odd side mission
