An amusement park management sim for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR? It should be a match made in heaven – but Bimboosoft's in-development Rollercoaster Dreams definitely has a ways to go. The title – which is clearly targeting the Theme Park market – seems to have all of the pieces in place, but lacks the charm of Bullfrog's seminal PSone simulation.
The problem is that the artstyle's completely devoid of any personality, and the amusement parks themselves look barren. The developer has a history making these kinds of games, with both the Dreamcast's Coaster Works and the PlayStation 2's bargain bin Rollercoaster World in its back catalogue, so at least it has experience with the genre.
And this is promising optional virtual reality functionality, which should prove exciting when you trial your custom made rides. But it's going to need a lot of work to get it up to scratch, isn't it? The trailer looks like it's piggybacked a ride straight out of the late 90s – the character models are abhorrent to say the least. Polish it up and give it some personality, though, and we'll buy a ticket.

I thought it looked similar to RollerCoaster World, as soon as the coaster building gameplay was shown, that confirmed my concern. What a shame, I was so hoping for a good theme park builder on PS4.
Just get yourself a copy of Planet Coaster for PC, this looks terrible TBH.
This just reminded me of the new PlayStation home style social space for PS4 what happened to that.... anyone....
Loved railroad tycoon on dreamcast even though it was so glitched out it was impossible to finish. I'd like a railroad tycoon please.
PSVR is starting to look like the wii as far as games go. "Oh we have a new platform, let's pump out some games quick." For every good game on wii there were 20 bad ones. My analogy may be a reach. I just hope it doesn't happen.
Eh, I'll stick with Planet Coaster.
I watched this trailer last night. Was probably the funniest trailer I've seen so far this year. Loved the part about enjoying the romantic night, which quickly turns into rides derailing to the tune of 90's soft pop. Great.
The spirit of the Universal Studios game on GameCube lives on. Well... at least you won't have to pick up litter.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi You mean Atom Universe? Yeah, still not many news about the game. Hopefully they'll announce it soon since the game is like Playstation Home but with parks. For far as I know, the game will be on the Ps4 and Pc.
I agree Sammy. The elements of a theme park sim is there but the way the game looks puts me off. It literally looks like a Ps2 game. As if they didn't even bother to use a better engine for the game. They should have delayed the game to 2017 so that they'll have more time to improve because this one looks barren compared to Rollecoaster World.
The first theme park sim I played and enjoyed was Thrillville. Seriously, EA needs to revive the franchise, or atleast bring the 2 games to the Ps4 through Ps2 emulation.
@Elodin True. There are still some great looking PS VR games such as The Robinson, Thumper, Rez, London Heist, RIGS, Battlezone, World War Toons, Ace Combat, Futuridium, EVE, Gran Turismo, etc.
This one however, looks s***.
