Telltale's hotly anticipated Batman will bring a bit of broodiness to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 next month, as the first episode in its all-new adventure gets underway. It'll be followed on 13th September in North America and 16th September in Europe by a Season Pass Disc, which will include the first episode on Blu-ray and a download code to redeem the remaining four.
We'll get an official release date for the inaugural outing at the San Diego Comic-Con next week, along with a world premiere trailer. This series aims to spotlight Bruce Wayne almost as much as The Dark Knight himself, and will bring Telltale's unique brand of narrative action to the most popular DC Comics universe. Why can't they just release the retail version after all episodes are out??selling a season pass disc makes no sense.you can't sell it after its been used and knowing what the public are like they would pick this up assuming they are getting a whole game.My nephew received minecraft story mode for Christmas and was extremely upset when he and his parents realized they had to wait for ages until the others came out (he never did finish it because he moved on to other games)
Still,I'm very excited about this as I love all Telltale games and no doubt I'll pick it up when it is on a guaranteed sale I just think selling it retail like this is wrong.
Ok that's my moan for today
@Wazeddie22 agreed!!!
I hate that TellTale is doing this thing now where episode one is on disc and a dlc code for the rest. I liked it better when they waited until the whole game is out and then release the whole thing on disc.
@JaredJ @Wazeddie22 I agree it's dumb, but they had massive success doing this with Minecraft: Story Mode. Basically, they just want to get a box on stores with "Batman" written on the cover as soon as possible.
I feel like the phrase "season pass disc" will mislead people.
I just want Telltale to release their games for the vita. It is the perfect device for their games. Grumble over.
I will wait until the whole season is out before investing. I agree releasing the physical with a code is just annoying as they are doing their best to con folks.
I wait for a few episodes and then jump in so the game sucks me in over 3 or 4 days. nothing like waiting 3 months to find out what happens next...... Not.
Cool. This is the first Telltale series in a while that I'm genuinely excited about.
@Reverandjames I think the delay for Arkham was due more to the negativity they received when those PS3/PS4 comparisons were released a while back.
Definitely interested in this. Hopefully will be less disappointing than Arkham Knight.
@JaredJ No, it doesn't come with a code. The pass is bulit in the disc
@yaryah21 really? That's cool then. Thanks for the info.
No sale with these half retail releases. Look at Resident Evil Revelations first PSN release and then a full retail release. They did the same crappy move with Game of Thrones....
So no Vita this time...
I wait 12 months to see if there a vita release.
@Rudy_Manchego Same here. I played Both seasons of TWD and the Wold Among Us on the vita and had a blast. I'm currently playing Tales from Borderlands on ps4 and it's just not that much fun. The vita is a perfect fir for such games.
@naruball Could not agree more. For me, the PS4 is not the choice for point and click adventures. I loved playing twd in bed on my vita. It is why they are so popular on Android and ios. I would happily play full price and even forgo stick controls to get them on the vita. Last I heard telltale made a blog post that more vita ports were coming but nothing else.
wait can someone explain this im so confused does this game have 4 disks wtf or 1 disc with the first 4 then they release more
@Rudy_Manchego
PS4 or Vita, doesn't really matter to me but I agree these games are perfect for handheld devices. I think two systems that should be automatics for Telltale's games are Vita and 3DS. I guess you can throw other mobile gaming devices in there as well. All should be able to handle these games which don't push the hardware at all.
