The Olympics are now officially underway, which means it's time to learn about nations that you never knew existed and watch sports that would never get primetime coverage under normal circumstances. You either love it or you hate it, but there's no denying that there's something special about the globe getting together and uniting under the banner of respectful competition. God knows the world needs a positive event more than ever right now, eh?

I'll be exploring the oceanic mysteries of ABZU, as I work my way through Giant Squid's acclaimed aquatic adventure. I've also become addicted to International Track & Field after researching this week's article, so I'll probably fire that up between lulls in the Rio 2016 schedule.

Thankfully it's my last weekend of handheld-only gaming, and since I put Yo-Kai Watch to bed earlier this week, I've finally got around to playing Monster Hunter Generations. I'm only halfway through the two star quests, but it sure is more Monster Hunter – which isn't a bad thing at all. In fact, it's making me want to find a Monster Hunter-esque game to play on PS4, any suggestions?

It's all I Am Setsuna for me this weekend. Playing through this makes me wish Final Fantasy would return to its roots a little more; though I'm sure I'll find enjoyment in Final Fantasy XV come September, I Am Setsuna reminds me of the simple charm of dialogue and character driven narratives before complex battle systems and convoluted terminology became the norm. I can't wait to see what Tokyo RPG Factory come up with next!

I'll be playing Lucioball! Then maybe use that enthusiasm to try out Rocket League again and see if I'm still terrible...

Once again, I'll be diving into The Witcher 3 this weekend, desperately trying to finish it before the Official Game of All Time Grow Up comes out. I'm deadly serious.

This weekend all hell is going to break loose in the family kitchen as I'm rounding up friends and family to cook cooperatively in the excellent indie Overcooked. Hell's Kitchen better watch out!

During the week I finished my initial play through of Hyper Light Drifter, but I can't help but feel like there's a ton of things left to find. I'll be diving back in this weekend to see if I can uncover some more secrets and treasures. Speaking of treasures, I managed to pick up Ratchet & Clank for an absolute bargain. I can't wait to dive back into Insomniac's warm-hearted, vibrant series – it's been far too long.

So, after missing a week, I am back. Sadly, with the Olympics going on, there won't be much gaming for me. However, I am going to try to squeeze in some Shenmue, which I will be playing for the first time.
An eclectic selection from our staffers, then, but what will be keeping you occupied this weekend? Win the WAYP relay in the comments section below.

Nothing due to the Olympics, as it's more important to me than video games.
One of my 'things' when I'm not gaming is watching and promoting women's soccer, so I'll be glued to the TV from around 4pm UK onwards watching the 6 upcoming group games at Rio. The USA vs FRA match should be a corker, FRA played some exquisite tiki-taka style football 3 days ago so it'll be interesting to see how the USA get around it. If they do, their strikers are lethal to say the least.
Other than that, still with Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. One reviewer didn't think I'd get 300 hours out of it, 170 hours and counting now and that's just 2 out of 4 playthroughs. So naa na, na naa na.
@FantasyMeister What time's the USA vs France match? Might tune in.
Hunting down one last triangle in Hyper Light Drifter...
I'm playing a game called "Dentist", got a tough boss battle with an enemy called "Root Canal" coming up
@get2sammyb In the UK the BBC starts live coverage at 20:45 for the 21:00 kick off. The full schedule of matches can be found in the link below, all times are Rio local which is 4 hours behind the UK.

*Grabs his Vita and sits next to @sub12
And Warcraft, 6 more levels for my hunter to hit the cap and get ready for Legion!
Neverwinter with what little free time I will have.
Gonna finally put witcher 3 to bed and finish the blood and wine dlc. I've chosen my path and I'm right at the end. Seriously fallen out of love with it since the Aerondight sword completely disappeared from my inventory. I've enjoyed every hour of it though but will be happy to draw a line under it. I've a week off work next week too roll on Tuesday (nms).
With a few days to kills after I finished batman and before no mans sky turns up I'm going back to Destiny to finally check out the April update.
I'll be picking up loot galore in Diablo 3.
@adf86 Lucky get! I wouldn't be able to resist playing it pre-patch.
God of war 3 remastered, man this game is fun. Also hyper light drifter and ape escape 2.
Just started Shadow of the Beast, Mixed thoughts on it so far with nice combat and PS3 graphics... Only played the first level though so will give it more of a chance to blow me away...
Finished and put in 36 hours on Nights Of Azure which I enjoyed alot but decided against going for the plat cuz I can't be assed. So this weekend I'll be playing Minecraft Story Mode as I just bought the season pass for a good deal.I'll also be playing some NeverWinter and I'll be chasing cheeky monkeys in Ape Escape 2.
Oh and more Persona Golden for vita
The Witcher 3 B&W. Getting closer to the end.
I'm trying to enjoy much as the weather as I can so been playing Odin sphere on the vita, think I have almost completed it now. Also be playing some ape escape 2 and I am setsuna if I get the chance.
after and anniversary vacation is time for some Metroid Prime Trilogy on my Wiiu, with some Mario RPG in between.
Dont care about Olympics. I have been coming back to some of my evergreen like Hyrule Warriors and Project Mirai. Will come back to Runner 2 and continue Olli Olli 2.
I just got Black Ops 3, which is my first time getting into the CoD series. I don't understand why it gets so much hate! I'm absolutely loving it. Fast-paced online play. Great controls. Good map design. Well balanced weapons.
I guess plenty of people just like to hate on whatever is popular?
3DS- Animal Crossing New Leaf, Monster Hunter 4
Wii U- Smash 4, Tokyo Mirage Session, Bayonetta 2, Donkey Kong Country 1&3(VC) Super Mario RPG(VC)
PS4- One Piece Pirate Warriors 3
@sketchturner I got BO3 and really gave it a go, hated it though lol.
@sketchturner I am in the same boat as you man. I only occasionally played CoD games like when I would go over to friends houses and such. Decided to pick up BO3 and I am enjoying it alot. Though the rocket jumping tends to get on my nerves after awhile which is why I am looking forward to MW Remaster. Still though I can't belive how much time I sunk into it so far.
While the wife watches the Olympics I will try and platinum Hitman Go on the vita.
Might also start a replay of The Order to get the easily in reach Plat there. I am clearing the decks before the bioshock collection comes out.
Just finished replaying MGS on the Vita, I forgot how good that game was. I'm also on the last level in Ratchet & Clank, which is quite possibly the most fun I have had with any PS4 game. After I finish it, I am hoping to start Tearaway on the Vita and also give my Wii some TLC with Donkey Kong & Mario Kart. Roll on No Man's Sky woo-hoo.
@Rudy_Manchego Hey dude, I am on a bit of Vita fest at the moment, what would you say is the standout feature of Hitman Go?
@ApostateMage Well I just got Overwatch today as well, plus I still getting through The Witcher DLC so I can afford to wait a few days.
@LobsterJohnson hey, I like/get addicted to puzzles on the go so hitman go ticks that box. That said, it is essentially a mobile phone game so pretty basic and repetitive. I got it for like £3 so happy with the purchase and a non time consuming platinum.
One more weekend of overwatch before no man's sky releases!!!
Doom, Ratchet & Clank and Pokemon Omega Ruby.
On honeymoon, however, did get Severed on iPhone before sneakily, that will have to do!
Finishing Minecraft story mode chapter 5 - pretty cool story and the injokes are class especially pork chop
Then hopefully a game of tricky towers with a couple of forum members time permitting.
Destiny, tried some Patapon and Fat Princess, crap, delete.
Monster Hunter Generations
#hunter4life
Played the tutorial of MLB The Show last night and loved it.
⚾️
Either Forza Horizon 2 or Dark Souls 3 if I recover from the illness I've had for the last couple of days.
Finally got the platinum in Dragon Quest Heroes, after beating the real pain in the arse that was Zoma. Now I'm taking it easy playing the excellent TellTale Game of Thrones.
Should have that done just in time for No Man's Sky
am still hooked to uncharted 4 online , dont know what to do !!!! need to play blood and wine but uncharted online have control over my mind
Just bought the Telltale Batman. Hope it's good. Been playing a bit of Arkham Knight lately. Trying to finish off those Riddler Trophies.
I also wanted to try to get in a few fighting games in. Killer Instinct and DOA5 LR for the Xbox One. Street Fighter V and Skullgirls for PS4. I feel like playing Mario Kart 8 as well. Won't have time to play everything.
