A sign of how slow the UK games industry is this summer: Grand Theft Auto V has reassumed its position at the top of the charts for the first time since March 2015. The game's been in the list for 150 weeks now, and this is its ninth number one. It was, however, a close-run contest between Rockstar's open world adventure and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End this time.
Elsewhere, there's really not a whole lot else to say. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Overwatch, and FIFA 16 all assumed places in the top five, while Ratchet & Clank continues to sell incredibly well. Bloodborne enjoyed a boost on the back of new PlayStation 4 bundles, while the wait for No Man's Sky to inject a little interest into this list goes on.
UK Sales Charts: Week ending 8th August, 2016
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
- LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens
- Overwatch
- FIFA 16
- Rocket League
- DOOM
- Call of Duty: Black Ops III
- Ratchet & Clank
- Minecraft: Xbox Edition

@DLB3 I know someone who's bought and sold the game about six times now. It's ridiculous.
Im genuinely considering a second copy as only have gta5 on ps3. Would you guys recommend upgrading to the ps4 version?
I actually don't own GTA V yet, still waiting for that price drop. I'll pick it up eventually when it hits £20-25.
@Rob_230 Definitely mate. Not only does it look better and play smoother but you get a lot more game modes, vehicles, weapons and clothing not available on the PS3/360. The new stunt races are great fun.
@Rob_230 Definitely, looks much better on PS4 and if you enjoyed GTA Online then thats still being given free updates and more players online.
Thanks guys. Great info. Its on my Amazon wishlist at least! It saves me having to go back to using my ps3 controller if nothing else can't get used to using that anymore after the heft of the dualshock 4
Wow, that's incredible, just goes to show what a giant that franchise is. Still haven't played GTAV though and probably never will, too many other things to play!
@JoeBlogs Yep same as my local GAME store. Still a bit much for a game that's almost 3 years old, no matter how good it is!
Not like I'm running out of games to play!
of course it's back at no.1 - gotta have something to keep the kiddies quiet during the summer holidays !
GTA on top again? That is literally insane! Nothing comes close sales-wise in the games industry eh? Not even CoD, Fifa, Mario Kart etc...
Just got this for my birthday yesterday. I would play it but apparently there's a space game that's coming out.
I don't own nor have I played GTA V yet...
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi seriously?
Its absolutely amazing. But don't buy it.
We do want GTA 6 sometime this millenium.
@themcnoisy waiting for it to reach either 20 quid on PSN or maybe a rental. Only going to play the campaign and move on.
