Sure, you can select a horrendous avatar if you so desire, but have you ever wished that you could personalise your PlayStation 4's profile page a little bit more? Sony now allows you to upload an image and use it as a header, similarly to on Twitter and Facebook. If you've taken some cool screenshots with the Share button, this is a great way to show them off.
To personalise your profile, simply browse to it and click on the ellipsis ('…') next to the 'Set Online Status' button. Click it and choose 'Change Cover Image'. This will bring up a list of screenshots currently saved on your PS4. Choose one, and then resize it using the analogue sticks. Once you're done, the picture will be uploaded to Sony's servers, and your profile will be updated to see it.
If you want to use a custom image, then you could always use the PS4's internet browser to search for a picture, and use the Share button to save it on your hard drive. Just remember to keep it clean and inoffensive – we imagine that you could get banned if you start uploading images of scantily clad ladies. Illegally cute kittens should be okay, though.

Now if only we could do this with avis.
Sweetness! ! !
Done mine with a great pic of my FFXIV character
@naut you can via the PlayStation App
"Nifty" that's a word I've not heard in a very long time lol
That is a very cool feature, now if only I could get a clean screen shot lol.
Is it too much to ask to use YOUR OWN CUSTOM WALLPAPER for the main screen; just like you were able to do with the PS3? Oh no, that's just another way to make money (by forcing you to buy those themes from PSN).
@takasugi77 right!!! 99% of the themes are SOOO bad too. dont know WHAT sony are thinking. maybe if the themes were high quality but its like school children made them all
@takasugi77 No one's forcing you to do anything. And I've got plenty of nice themes from PSN that I was quite happy to pay, what, £1.69 for? I've paid more for biscuits for goodness sake.
I had a go at this using the PS4 internet browser (first time I've 'used' it) - what a painful experience that browser is.
@SegaBlueSky: 1.69 in British Pounds converts to well over $2.00. No thank you. Again, the best themes and especially Wallpaper I had for my PS3 were free - downloaded directly from the internet and transferred from my flash drive. I still don't understand why we can't do that with the PS4.
@takasugi77 Which is a nominal charge for a small, optional luxury. Best themes I've had on all PS systems have always been paid, I like the ones that have been specially designed and come with music. But I do agree that setting your own wallpaper should be a basic feature.
I had dozens of wallpapers, transferred from my flashdrive, on my PS3 that I'd change every so often depending on my mood.
so no naked beefcakes... Why even bother adding this functionality
Does anyone know what his gamer profile picture is?
