Bad news for those of you who were looking forward to jumping online with your sofa buddy in For Honor, as it sounds like Ubisoft Montreal has cut split-screen co-op. In a recent video from the developer, producer Stephane Cardin says "we decided this week to cut the split-screen", but doesn't really give a clear answer as to why this decision was made.
Cardin continues: "It was a feature that we loved, but, when we looked at what needs to be done to support online co-op, for us it was critical to make a decision now so we can polish all the features at the AAA level and make sure that we have the most amazing experience."
It's also unclear whether Cardin is referring to removing split-screen co-op from just online play or from the game in its entirety, although the way he's said it makes us think that it's only been dropped from the former. At least, we hope that's the case.

Awesome, like a true next gen game.
Lol no buy then.
Well, I wasn't paying so much attention to this game, anyway... But I always look forward to games where I can play couch-coop, since me and my boyfriend are running out of things to play together
"It was a feature that we loved, but it was buggy as all hell & we had to cut costs last minute. Couldnt risk another Unity."
Oh that would have been a feature that could sell me on the game, guess I save some money.
Damn I would like to play with my wife online (we have only one PS4), not a deal break but kind of bad.
