Final Fantasy XV couldn't Noctis FIFA 17 from its perch in this week's UK sales charts – but it still registered the second strongest first week sales for a Final Fantasy game in Britain, falling only short of Final Fantasy XIII's week one numbers. We're pretty sure that Square Enix will see that as a success – especially if the trend continues globally.
Unsurprisingly, it was the PlayStation 4 version that carried much of the weight, with the Sony SKU finishing first in the Individual Formats chart, while the Xbox One edition languished all the way down in 14th position. That's despite Microsoft actually marketing the title quite heavily on these shores – it seems that most JRPG fans are centralised on the PS4.
It wasn't a particularly big week for new releases, but Steep did enter in 24th place, which has got to be considered an unmitigated disaster for Ubisoft. We didn't even know that it was coming out. Elsewhere, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End actually re-entered the top ten on the back of great hardware bundles, while the likes of Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare stuck around.

That's not bad considering all the offers I've seen for Fifa and it being bundled with virtually every new Xbox. Also not surprising to see that it's selling far better on PS4, I suspect many gamers will associate this series amongst others with Playstation
Why just why ...
@hieveryone because of lot of casual players like FIFA plus it's a yearly sport game and their fans just buy them on instinct i think, even my brother brought it and he doesn't even own a gaming system (i let him use my XB1 because i hardly do)
Not surprised to see Uncharted 4 re-enter the charts. Surprised, but happy, to see Forza Horizon 3 doing well. That game is phenomenal.
Oh my screw UK! Really, the gaming industry would be better if the UK was a lesser market.
I know that's not bad for FF, but come on look at this list! Not just this week, but every single week every year is the same. Fifa, COD, Minecraft. Battlefield and usually GTAV, which by a miracle isn't on it this time.
This years Fifa 17 is an appalling game why do these idiots keep buying it when PES is a far superior football game.
FIFA17 was bundled with pretty much every new console so you've got to take that into consideration.
I think FFXV will go on to become the best selling Final Fantasy game of all time (until FFVII Remake). The game definitely seems to have done what it set out to do. Bring back positivity to the FF franchise & appeal to old fans & new ones.
Shame for dishonored meh
Shame it didn't topple FIFA but nice strong start.
For some reason from this top 10 I only have
Final Fantasy XV... Anyway I didn't realise that Steep has been released. Seemed like a cool concept. Will you guys review it?
I'll never cease to be amazed by how into Soccer non-Americans are.
Then again, I'm sure it goes the other way as well. Americans are really into their armored Rugby.
@Ralizah Well football is our national sport and we have the best league in the world so what did you expect.
@Ralizah sport is generally a commentator saying "unbelievable" when everything I've ever seen in sport is very believable. The more popular the sport the more "unbelievables" you tend to get. Sport by its very definition is ridiculous and unnecessary, usually involving a ball because heck humans dont have much imagination and feature rulesets which are counter productive to exciting spectacles. Any sport is as enjoyable or unenjoyable as you are willing to participate, view, understand and learn. Opportunities to become embroiled in a particular sport rise based mainly on cultural and geographical factors. So yes Football (its not Soccer) is more popular here in grey old Blighty and is equally as ridiculous a sport as all the others.
