There's no sign of the new releases slowing down after 2017 has started like a rocket. We've got several members of our team beavering away on big new games, while dozens more lurk menacingly around the corner. Of course, this isn't a time to look ahead, it's a time for reflection, so we ask that popular question again: what are you playing this weekend?

I'm still playing a game I can't talk about and I really wished I could. All will be revealed soon, though.

Over the weekend, I'll be aiming to make my opponents a little bit shorter as I chop heads off left, right, and centre while playing For Honor. I'll also be trying to get familiar with the raft of changes made to Smite with the release of the Season 4 patch on consoles this week.
Graham Banas, Reviewer
With Persona 5 having gotten pushed back a while ago now, the year hasn't really started for games I personally really want. But with Night in the Woods next week and Horizon: Zero Dawn the week after, things are about to get going. In the meantime, I'll probably try and keep myself occupied with NHL 16 and Rainbow Six Siege. Last week I said the worst seemed to be behind Siege as far as server woes and I was grossly mistaken, but hopefully this week?

I've got the bug. I made the mistake (maybe?) of buying Nioh, and I can't stop. Sometimes I feel like I'm teetering on the edge of sanity when I play it, and other times it's pure joy. Either way, Nioh's getting all my attention this weekend, and I can't wait.

This weekend, I will not rest until I've got the Platinum Trophy in Final Fantasy XV. I've got four trophies to go, not including the Platinum itself; two of which include maxing out the fishing skill (without a doubt my least favourite part of the whole game) and beating the Adamantoise. I foresee a few necessary breaks to prevent me putting my fist through the TV screen (I swear, if Gladio slags off my fishing one more time), so in those moments I'll be hitting up Danganronpa: Ultra Despair Girls on my Vita to relieve some frustration on Monokuma.

After finishing Resident Evil 7, I just couldn't resist latching onto the Season Pass. I just finished Banned Footage Vol. 1 and will be looking over the follow-up this weekend. If it happens to be equally entertaining (albeit short), you can colour me pleasantly surprised. Other than this, I think I'll be wading a bit in Overwatch and Modern Warfare Remastered's multiplayer.

This weekend I'll be enjoying the sights of rural Louisiana in Resident Evil 7, a game that has kindly gifted me a pair of brown trousers. In between fits of screaming and crying, I'll be continuing my attempt to 100 per cent Hitman, repeatedly playing the Sapienza level until I cannot bear to see the beautiful Italian seaside anymore.
Victor Nowogurski, Reviewer
It's more For Honor for me this weekend as this game seriously has me hooked. Also, I'll be throwing in some LEGO Dimensions with my son as we got a few new sets this week.
We're all chatted out now, so it's over to you valued readers. What are you playing this weekend? Y'know the drill by now: let us know in the comments section below.

Still going through Gravity Rush 2. Loving every minute of it.
Getting ready to do my RE7 Madhouse run tonight. I got through on normal and ran it in 3 hours on easy, so I have most of the extra items. A little confused that I got the reward for using less than 3 healing items, but didn't get the achievement....
@Deadlyblack How far in are you?
@RedMageLanakyn Urgh! That sucks man!
Just started Sniper Elite 4 after seeing the video review on here actually
@get2sammyb you can't fool me! I saw on psn what you were playing! 😂
I'll be continuing through world of final fantasy. I have to admit that I'm enjoying it more than expected. I was initially excited upon the reveal but it dwindled a little with the whole stacking thing. I'm pleased to say it is a great game so far.
Well having realised I was buying the Switch to play 1 game I cancelled my preorder and used the money for PSVR, which is the best decision I have ever made. This is the first time since the PS1/N64 days that a console has felt genuinely new as opposed to just a prettier version of what I already had.
So far I've been playing the demo disc, VR World's (please make a full game of London Heist), the excellent but short lived Batman and tomorrow I may brave Resident Evil 7 in VR on a new Madhouse save.
At the moment I'm just trying to decide which "full" VR game to buy with Battlezone the early frontrunner, really good fun on the demo, Eve Valkerie made me feel sick even though Star Wars didn't but I'm also tempted to wait for Star Trek.
Overall very impressed with VR, the sense of scale is truly amazing and my only previous experience was with the Gear VR and that is no comparison.
I'm killing g people in style on Hitman
Mopping up trophies for a couple of platinums in Sleeping Dogs and Stardew Valley.
Still playing Tales of Symphonia HD but nearing the final stretch. I really want to finish it in time for Zelda! If I can finish it this week I might start a new game but can't choose between Uncharted 4 or Dishonored - the latter of which I'd already played on the 360. Hmm.
On the handheld front, I'm continuing with Dragon Quest Builders. The cockney bodybuilders of Kol are quite funny.
I've finally been convinced by my wife to get into The Witcher 3 and it has completely disrupted my current gaming plans. Actually, let me rewrite that - it has completely disrupted my life.
Nioh and For Honor. FFXV got me bored with all its nonsensical fetch quests and I am going to give it back once horizon arrives.
So, Nioh and For Honor, two masyerpieces in their respective fields
I am about to finish wolfenstein :the old blood and may try and platinum it while I sit about and wait for Horizon. Also Batman VR since I got it for valentines!!
If you want real fun and big laughs just fire up DIRT Rally VR. Take the Mini and race through Wales and Finland. Pure joy!
PS4: NiOh
PSVita: Persona 3 Portable
Trudging along in NiOh. Just hit level 80 & about to move onto the next region once I clear the remaining sub missions.
Don't think I've ever died more in a game, but NiOh is just a pure joy to play.
Making steady progress on P3P. Hoping to have it finished by this time next week. Probably my favourite 'vita' game ever.
Nioh still has me hooked so majority of my gaming time will be spent with that. My multiplayer itch will be left to For Honor. The singleplayer is ok but it basically feels like a long tutorial for the incredible MP. Those 1v1 duels though.
@get2sammyb So, you were serious about liking HG then, guess I know what you're playing.
Looked you up on PS4 last night, you practice what you preach. Was surprised at your low U4 trophy total, I know you like that game, are most of the rest multiplayer?
I continue to BATTLE with the piece of garbage broken camera in FFXV, how the heck did that game ever make it thru Q&A testing? I'm in my 2nd dungeon where the camera won't work. First was near insomnia, camera locked at Notic knees, couldn't see a thing, had to exit. Last night it freskin Castle mark Tower. First time I was in the fourth hallway when it stuck, so I got out and saved at camp. But of course I couldn't get back in until dark. So I went back to my save before camp and went back in. Did the whole thing over again, got to the last freaking boss door and the camera locked again, I could see it but couldn't open it. Spent 30 minutes at 1AM changing every setting, controlers, options, but nothing. So I'll be playing that entire dungeon again today trying not to have the camera get stuck again. Grrr
I'll probably also play U4. Was moving along quite nicely when a flashback chapter popped up and I immediately lost interest. I get why it's there, but I still didn't want it to be.
If anybody is interested, Planet Earth 2 premiers in the US tonight, fighting komodo dragons, can't beat that.
@carlos82 I hear they're still working on Fallout 4 for VR. Once that comes out, I'll get PS VR.
@get2sammyb It certainly does! I think the run was bugged in general though, because I was also counting my trips to the item box, and when I only had two it said I had 4. Oh well, thankfully it's such a fantastic game I won't mind doing an infinite ammo run after getting through Madhouse
same i normally do, DBXV2, FFXV and Star Trek Online, i do have other games i want to play but no room to install yet, waiting for that External HDD support update to drop
First weekend (hopefully the only one) waiting for my PS4 to arrive! I finally bought it last wednesday.
@get2sammyb I'm about 70% done with the main mission, according to the statistics menu.
got a few games to finish. gow3. rise of the tomb raider. bought destiny few week ago but not yet started so maby give that a try tonight.
@Deadlyblack Nice!
@rjejr I just haven't had time to get the collectibles in Uncharted to be honest. I think that's why.
I finished up Uncharted 4 a couple days ago, which was the last game from Christmas I needed to beat. Now that I have nothing else to play on PS4, I started up my PS Now free trial. I really wanted to try Ni No Kuni and I love it so far. Sadly, I probably won't be able to finish it within the week the free trial gives. Might have to come back to it later on and pay for a month's subscription.
Sammy's playing Horizon.
Me, I I'll be playing Beyond Oasis because I'm always a few years behind.
@get2sammyb I've seen what your playing on PSN and I kinda hate you a little bit cos of it
been playing Oceanhorn great little game
I got WWE 2K17 for 30 bucks yesterday on PS4. So I'll be playing that along with Yakuza 0 and King of Fighters 14. GTA5 on Xbox One.
I am Setsuna ...that probably is the most ok ok-game ever. All the pieces are there but it's missing something. Also training in SF5 because they nerfed Ryu and Chun int the ground in season 2 and it has become extremely difficult to win matches with them.
I work on Saturday so I won't get too much done that day and then I'll be working on Lego the Force Awakens toward the plat and 100% till Horizon can be downloaded. I'd like to get LtFA done soon so I can trade it in for more credit on my Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition. Of course I'll also get a few matches of Yu-Gi-Oh in as well since I do that pretty much every day. Also been outside enjoying the nice weather with the Generation 2 Pokémon in Go!
@Jake3103 is that actually coming to PSVR? I know they're doing VR but I hadn't heard mention of playstation
@carlos82 I don't think they've confirmed which VR headsets it will come to. I'm just holding out hope!
@Jake3103 it would be pretty cool, especially in the power armour if my brief experience of Rigs is anything to go by
Getting unlockables and trophies on Project Diva F2nd. After platting Lego TFA I am getting the trophies for the DLC levels for true 100%
I want to start a game, either Wind Waker HD or Gravity Rush.
Still on Shadow Complex and Shadow of the Colossus, with the occasional Rocket League MP game thrown in.
Finishing abzu and playing transformer devastation. I get transformer from psplus about 5 month ago, if I know the game is this good, I'll play it from a long time ago. Can't wait for platinum next game, nier automata
Also, I need to replay shantae half genie hero for the last 2 trophy (speed runner & quick collector) to get the platinum, but I hate timed run
@get2sammyb You must be busy, you never did an article for the US PSN Flash sale I keep spamming you about. Not great, but a few good deals I think.
https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/flash-sale/cid=STORE-MSF77008-FLASHSALE17LP?emcid=ps-ga-871&utm_medium=Paid_Search&utm_campaign=Games&utm_source=Google&utm_term=ps-ga-871&utm_content=Brand
Destiny as usual, and a bit of Sleeping Dogs if I get time. I really don't have as much time for gaming nowadays, which is a shame.
Nioh for me, and the wife is out all day Saturday so a day to myself to really get stuck in.
Finding it a bit easier than I expected to be honest, I feel like Bloodborne was tougher but nevertheless, it's an incredible game, Deffo my fave of 2017 so far.
Went for a big old bike ride today which was fun, I might play some Gravity Rush 2 this weekend but I'm in a bit of a rut since Resi 7. Hopefully Horizon, Nier and Mass Effect will pull me out!
Dirt Rally VR since yesterday. Cant stop - it's a masterpiece!
After finishing Gravity Rush 2 last week (great game, well worth getting) moved on to Mirrors Edge Catalyst. Will probably get that done in time for Horizon.
@Feena
Yeah, Chun Li was my main. I haven't played much of Street Fighter V since season 2 hit because of her nerf. I don't wanna do it, but I may Switch my main. Maybe Guile, or Kolin. She looks pretty cool to use.
@get2sammyb you're playing Mass Effect aren't you?
@iSillyBoiJudas I think @ShogunRok would literally murder me if I took Mass Effect off him.
@get2sammyb @iSillyBoiJudas That's an understatement.
Getting well into Deus Ex Mankind Divided and still absolutely loving it..not sure why the reviews weren't too hot on it.Also literally just about to go pop World Of Final Fantasy in the disc tray for the first time as I won't be going back to continue Final Fantasy XV until the end of March after the update for it.
Dangerous Golf is still grabbing some of my time..that game is amazing for the two quid I paid for it.
And on the Vita when I have some time I'm still playing Atelia Totorie...can never have too much Atelia
@shonenjump86 Apparently there is ANOTHER balance patch coming in March. I hope they make her viable again...you have to work so hard now to do some damage ;_; bottom tier Ryu is even worse, can you believe his normals are even more stubby than before?
I am trying Akuma at the moment, he's fun and a gentleman who shares the vagina tax on HP with the female cast.
Kolin looks wicked! Gonna give her a try for sure, fight money already saved.
@rjejr
Thanks for sharing, a few of those games you don't really care about until you see them for less than $5.
@toon_lonk1
Thanks, that one seems to be shorter so I will probably start with it.
Rise of The Tomb Raider - pretty near the end
Final Fantasy 15 - at the final battle but clearing all the side missions to level up
Day 5 is almost up on my PS4 sabbatical, absolutely loving Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours on the Vita, a must buy for shooter fans with 3000 levels, so I will be on that later. Im also hopefully finishing off Final Fantasy 10 as Im at the save point in Sin the fat whale.
Replaying Siren on my PS4. Then finally getting around to finishing Gravity Rush Remastered.
I'm playing nioh. Stuck on the 2nd boss. Dunno if I will ever defeat her lol
Language -Tasuki-
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Haven't played in VR, but it is very good. Some decent jump scares and tense sections. Way better than I thought it would be. Lots of great Easter eggs from past RE games too. Capcom really put a lot of effort and detail into it, and it shows on every level.
@rjejr Yeah he's neck deep in Horizon I'd bet, trying to get it finished in time for a Monday's embargo lift.
FFXV remains on hold. TLG too. I haven't played them in weeks and it's getting close to that time where if I don't resume them soon, it'll feel really awkward to carry on from that point and I won't be into it emotionally.
But as for what I'm playing rather than not playing, still going through Star Ocean 5 and recently started The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav on PC. In 10 days one of my most anticipated games of all time comes out - Torment: Tides of Numenera - so I think other stuff will go on hold for that.
Today i finally finished the vanishing of ethan carter. Probably one of my favorite games. Its just beautiful and i love the love craftian.... ness lol. I tried to play fallout4 after a small hiatus but it wont get padt the main loading screen when i try to start a game. Just keeps panning around the title screen garage as it tries to load. Ive been reading that its a wide spread bug. Anyone else experiencing this? Hope its fixed soon.
@Gunners85 I spent a good two hours trying to defeat her. Got there in the end, but she's really hard. Good luck with it
@carlos82 Very wise move!The Switch line up is looking pretty pathetic.Glad to hear you are enjoying the VR,it's an amazing system and although I don't play mine too often (once a week maybe)it still never fails to blow me away each time
@renankj Congrats on nearly owning the best gaming console in the market!What games are you getting with it?There isant exactly a shortage of games
@Wazeddie22 Thanks! There're so many games I want that it was hard to choose, haha. I got Horizon preordered first, then a few games on sale - Tomb Raider, Watch Dogs, Bloodborne, Syndicate and Mortal Kombat XL. The ones I'm most excited about are Horizon and Mortal Kombat, though, I really wanna play them!
Was hoping to be playing nioh this weekend. Seeing as how I love bloodborne/dark souls, and loved the weekend demo I decided it was next game for me to buy. And then crappy RL stepped in and caused me not to be able to afford it this weekend. 😑 So playing borderlands 2 the handsome collection. I had $20 in my psn wallet and it was on sale. Pretty decent so far. I almost got one of the dmc games as they are both in flash sale but decided against it. Could anyone tell me if the dmc games are any good or not?
@wiiware From my personal experience, speed running Half-Genie Hero is easier than Pirate's Curse. You can actually get both 100% and any% trophies on one run because the time required is pretty generous.
Trying to get through Fire Emblem: Fates - Birthright. Keep getting sidetracked by challenges etc.
@renankj Yeah the choice of high Quality games can be pretty overwhelming lol,When I bought mine,it came with Knack (which I'm one of the few that enjoyed it) and I bought Infamous Second Son (Highly recommend)with it.There wasn't much else I was interested in.
Tomb Raider and Watch Dogs are both awesome games so you will enjoy them.
And yeah Horizon can't come soon enough!
Dirt Rally VR all the way - the best gaming experience I have ever had (and I was the first kid on the block to get Pong!).
You guys who do not have PSVR are missing something - I mean really.
@Gunners85 She killed me 18 times, then I crafted me a better spear!
Yes, I'm playing Nioh and it's a blast!
@Deadlyblack Yeah, I hear the limit is about 4 hours. Does the game stop the timer when I press pause (using ps4 touchpad)?
My goal for the week is finish Watch Dogs 2, beat Rise of the Tomb Raider, then have Dishonored 2 beat by next week. My backlog will be mostly caught up before Horizon and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild if I can manage it.
it's 2017 an i can't get enough of my PS Vita, recently finished The Swapper and it was a really great game. now i'm obsessed with OlliOlli 2 oh man this game is superb. beside that i'm playing Touch My Katamari (my fist time in the series) it's a good game and definitely a weird one. all in all Vita is an awesome console and i wish Sony would consider Vita 2 or PSP3 for that matter.
For Honor, can't put the game down! Even the campaign isn't as bad as made out , interesting to find out about each of the different characters etc...
@wiiware Yes, pausing the game and looking into your inventory pauses the timer.
I haven't been on here for a wile so here's my update. Playing fallout 4 and Skyrim now and again but tend to get bored if I play too much. Started playing MGS 5 and that's really good. Bought Nioh and was really enjoying that until 3rd boss and rage quit and sold the game. Which I regret now lol. Now playing DS3 on the ps4 after already completed on the xbox1 on release. Glutton for punishment I am.
@Deadlyblack Ok, thanks for the answer. Nice, I can finally finish the game while reading the guide on my ipad/phone
On PS4 I just picked up Rise Of The Tomb Raider last week and I've been playing through that a bit. Also I just picked up Titanfall 2 for only $20. I've heard great things about the campaign, so I've wanted to give it a try. But not at full price. On Tomb Raider I've been stuck on this witch boss and I just realized it's the DLC and not the main story.
So I'm going to exit that boss fight and just focus on the main story for now, as I want to finish both Tomb Raider and Titanfall 2 before Horizon Zero Dawn and my Nintendo Switch with Zelda arrives, becuase those two games will probably keep me busy for a long time considering I still have class and work.
@Rudy_Manchego Batman VR is great fun, I just hope we'll get a longer version in future.
I've just downloaded I Expect You To Die which is a great take on the puzzle room genre combined with 007 sillyness. So much so that I can have more fun in what is a glorified level select than in most complete games and the opening credits are magnificent
Megaman 2 in the Megaman Legacy Collection. This series simply Rocks!
I'm idle this weekend, prepping for a work trip. Not sure if the 3DS or Vita will come with me, probably the Vita though. Want to finish the last bit of Trails of Cold Steel 2. I was considering a playthrough of Inside on PS4 but I believe I'll stay idle until I return to pick up my Horizon copy
The Order 1886 i thought it sucked because everyone ripps on the game. But the game is awsome and looks fantastic.
Yes i had it from day one that is even worse.
@sinalefa "Thanks for sharing, a few of those games you don't really care about until you see them for less than $5."
$5 is my magic price, I'm still debating inFamous 2nd Son for $8 b/c I feel like it will be $5 or on PS+ by summer and I really don't have time to play it until then anyway.
@rjejr
A steal at $8.I was upset First Light wasnt there as it is the one I need.
