Just like some of you, we've been patiently waiting to hear about the long awaited Mass Effect: Andromeda multiplayer beta, but our hopes and dreams have just been shot to pieces by a BioWare blog post. In said post, the Canadian developer casually writes "while we will have live multiplayer at PAX East, there will no longer be a multiplayer tech test for players at home. Thank you to everyone who signed up. We look forward to seeing you in Andromeda." Oh, okay then.
Although we currently feel like we've just been dumped via text message, we suppose that the studio must have its reasons for cancelling the beta. We're just going to have to wait and see how the co-op shapes up in the full release, which launches later this month.
Were you looking forward to the beta? Show some slight disappointment in the comments section below.

Bah.
... It better be good!
Maybe they just run out of time?
As long as it's not broken at launch, that's fine.
Why does it seem more ams more like this is being rushed out? 🤔
Love me some intense "mutliplayer" action
(hint, hint)
I was looking forward to playing this but it's disappointing, that I can't. But honestly, this just gives me more time to completing Horizon Zero Dawn before the game releases.
I think the problem is, the multiplayer reveals all enemy types. So it's something of a spoiler. Fingers crossed it's awesome though. Been a long wait.
Not bothered about the Beta - wasn't a big fan of ME3's MP and these type of games, I buy for the campaign anyway. I will probably give the MP a try but its not something I am excited to play and certainly won't be jumping in until the campaign is finished.
Mass Effect is one of my favorites games ever made (all the 3), but there are a lot of things that are worrying about MEAndromeda, don't you agree @ShogunRok?
@Frank90 I do agree, yes. I'm excited to finally play it, but being a gigantic fan of the trilogy, there's always the doubt that Andromeda won't live up to what's come before. The gameplay we've seen generally looks pretty good, but I do worry that the exploration aspects and the 'sandbox' elements may take away from what Mass Effect does best - namely interesting missions, good pacing, and lovable characters. We'll soon see if it holds up, anyway.
Quote from PC Gamer, which they received directly from Bioware:
"Our team worked extremely hard building, testing, and balancing multiplayer, and we ultimately determined that a tech test would not be necessary."
Sounds awfully cocky to me, deciding their in house testing is enough. Guaranteed day 1 the servers will get overloaded, or it'll have major performance issues. Karma is a b****!
@viciousarcanum For the same reason the Switch was rushed out; to meet the end of the fiscal year by the end of March.
@ShogunRok Am I right to assume that you're the one doing the review right? If so I'll wait for your opinion.
@Frank90 Hopefully, if all goes to plan!
