Nintendo Switch got new stock this week which pushed its hardware and software numbers up significantly, but despite the new console on the block, the PlayStation 4 continues to sell steady. The system racked up another 30,000 or so units between the PS4 Slim and the PS4 Pro this week – an uneventful but sturdy statistic for the system.
Horizon: Zero Dawn continues to do pretty well considering it's very much a Western game in Japan, but Deus Ex: Mankind Divided couldn't repeat the success on its Eastern debut, failing to break the Top 20 at all. The full list of data for the week ending 26th March is embedded below.

Was it new stock or was it this little thing called Splatoon? Im willing to bet the latter.
But those PS4 Pro numbers. Eesh. I guess the East really isnt into the spec race. Interesting.
At least Nier is still doing well over in Japan.
The more I play of Nier, the better it gets.
Not every week can be a winner.
That's a nice jump for the Switch and I hope it can settle around 80K or more consistently. It's extremely important that the Switch is moderately successful in Japan or you can pretty much kiss goodbye any Japanese 'AAA' games on console from here on out.
On the PlayStation side it's nice to see Horizon hanging around the top 5. It's going to reach 200K in Japan a number I wasn't sure was possible (at least not this quickly) for a new IP from a Western studio.
@Gamer83 I don't think japanese AAA games need switch, nearly all japan AAA games is passing switch. Like final fantasy xv, nier automata, persona 5, and yakuza series. The switch is not build for AAA games, the system spec, storage and portability won't allow that, the only thing switch is good for is playing nintendo games.
@wiiware Those games also finished development at a time where the Switch wasn't even officially announced. Hell, FFXV was released before Switch even had a date, Yakuza is Sony exclusive as is Persona.
Look at all these AAA Japanese games that missed Switch. By existing before the console was out. Must be why Switch got DQH1+2. Must be why it's getting DQX and XI. A new SMT game from Atlus. Sonic Forces. Also must be why Capcom is porting the RE engine and already has the MT engine on it. Also why they told Nintendo to put more RAM inside.
Your examples are all games that came out before Switch, were very far along in development, or locked to PlayStation.
@BLP_Software I plan to buy switch when mario come out, but I don't expect switch getting any 3rd party AAA games, japanese or usa. That dragon quest heroes 1+2 games cost $100 in japan because game card is expensive, also the graphics is massively downgraded from ps4 60 fps to switch 30 fps exploration + 20 fps combat, also the texture quality is like ps3 games.
There are no news about dragon quest 11 switch version, not even screenshot. I think it will be upgraded 3DS version rather than massively downgraded ps4 version. Like I said, the switch is build for nintendo games, forget about AAA games.
I guess they have ZERO PS4 Pro's in Japan to? Not sure why SONY even bothered with the PS4 Pro when it seems to be out of stock all the time Worldwide :-/ 30K+ for the PS4's all together is still good tho
@BLP_Software The Pro is ugly and completely unneeded. Slim is sleek and stylish and runs games super smooth. It's no wonder people are choosing Slim over Pro.
No new PS4 games in the top 10, and the system still sells 30,000 combined, just like that. PS4's growing back catalogue of quality games doing its work here.
@Mahe I dont know which if the two is less needed. Neither are aesthetically great...but they couldve just reduced costs on the PS4 without a redesign. Or Pro was unecessary because it targets a limiting section of gamers for what? More performance?
My idea is Pro was the way of making the PS4 brand look premium and maintain that image when the price cuts came. When a brand loses that premium look, it loses desirablity among thr people they want to sell it to, especially with the Slim redesign looking...questionable. Not PS3 Allegedly Super Slim bad, but bad.
@BLP_Software Look at the sales. PS4 sales would be tanking if they only had Pro and didn't have the Slim. It's obvious that Slim is needed and Pro is the extra throwaway model.
And as I said, Slim looks good. Pro is ugly, I wouldn't want it even if I was in the market for it!
