PS4 Firmware Update 4.50 Release Ruled Out

Aww man - had already planned to watch The Martian in 3d on the VR headset tonight.

@Rudy_Manchego is that part of the update? I hadn't realised as didn't get my VR until I had the beta. I did watch the Avengers as it appears to be the only 3D blu ray in my house and the effect is really good

still at least we know it's coming that's something at least, plus it gives me time to save more and get a bigger HDD than the one i was going to get

@carlos82 It is I believe part of the update. I have a fair few 3d blu rays so looking forward to seeing how it looks. Another reason to put on VR and not talk to the missus.

Maybe it's dropping tonight at midnight? I'll never understand why Sony announces this stuff in advance, almost daring 50 million people to log in simultaneously and try to download it all at once. Just do it at like 2AM then put up the notice 3 hours later, let it trickle out slowly. Word will spread soon enough via social media anyway.

So wanting this for the boost mode and external HDD support. I'll finally be able to play Just Cause 3 at a semi-decent frame rate! Not releasing today is a shame, but no biggie. Perhaps Sony are ironing out some glitches with boost mode, I understand Soma and a few others had some issues.

Here's a question. if you can run other consoles through the PSVR does this mean in theory you might be able to play 3D PS3 games in 3D using the headset?

@get2sammyb I found a Seagate 4TB External Hard Drive on amazon...questions about it were if it would work on the PS4...they replied that it would and it works on XBONE. I'm taking it that it would be okay, or is there a better company that I could get...this one costs $120 in the US, is there something better out there?

@feral1975 nar wrong type of 3D. VR 3d works on both eye gets is own image , one slightly off (to give the 3d image ) pretty sure 3D on ps3 is based on two layers. one behind the other. (I THINK)

All I ask is it's out before Mass Effect and MLB The Show. Not clearing anymore games off the internal harddrive since we know this update is coming, I just hope it's very soon.

People diss Seagate - i personally have purchased this one -https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00UNA1ICQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 it works fine but didn't have any screws screwed into the case,now its full of p.c stuff..purchased an internal seagate 2tb recently for the ps4,works fine..hmm,waste of time now obviously..i would say just make sure its got screws in!

Firmware 4.50 will launch but having some patience are in order , the features have to be properly tested before being released to the public .Because GOD forbid they have issues there will be a Lynch mob

I bloody knew it! It's saying today but there's no indication of it man! I know it's coming but this is still frustrating! 112, bought one today (guess which?) and will be getting nier on Friday! So which game or games will I have to delete once again! 😡

@get2sammyb Hey Sammy...just out of curiosity, can you only plug in one External Harddrive, or can you actually add two at the same time to give it even more space???

Hmm, This talk of 3D movies on PSVR has me wondering if we may see a few 3D games for PSVR That could not go Full VR route. Maybe some indie will do something like that.
