The jury may still be out on Sonic Forces, but at least Sonic Mania is looking spot-on. The retro revival – which is set to rekindle the feel of Sonic games of yore – is finally scheduled to release on 15th August for $19.99, and it’s available to pre-order on the PlayStation 4 right now. “Re-live the Sonic of the past with an exciting new twist on classic zones while fighting against new bosses and Dr. Eggman’s evil robot army,” reads the blurb.
There’s a new trailer above which, we believe, introduces some fresh zones – it’s all rather exciting, isn’t it? Will you be homing in on this throwback offering? Ball up in the comments section below.

Price is spot on. This game is going to be fantastic!
Day one!!!
Wouldn't go as far as to say I'm excited, but I'll pick it up down the line eventually. I played the trilogy a few times growing up, they were fun but not as replayable as something like the super mario world games, which I tend to go through at least once a year.
Day one purchase!
£15.99 Amazing price, Pre-Ordered already
Thanks for including the price in the article, I'm still a little taken aback at the new PS1 looking Square JRPG Lost Sphear for $49.99.

god I can not wait for this honestly nothing has me as hyped this year as Mania does
People can be critical of the 16 bit style but I saw this video the other day and it just looks rank when better rendered.

So Kotaku's rumour was right about the release date!
It looks amazing! Day 1!
Nicee, I'll get it day 1
I've not enjoyed a Sonic game since about 1996 so I'm all in on this one. If only they could spell Robotnik properly and I'd be even happier 😃
Love the look of this and love the line drawing in the trailer. Quality. Still wish all levels were brand new as I dont really want to play reimaginings of levels I have played over and over again; but this looks absolutely quality all the same. And a great price too
Seeeegaaaaa!
Can't wait. I may go and have a blast on Sega mega collection to ease the wait.
The elevator buttons with 1, 2, 3, K, M was a very nice touch.
My one disappointment with this game is that it's not entirely new content. I don't care about remade classic levels.
I'm so in on this game. Love the new trailer, too
So, so excited. It looks fantastic. Brilliant trailer too - the animated sections look wonderful and the way it edits between the three characters is brilliant. Just wish it was launching sooner! The other problem is I have no idea which console to buy it for. Switch is portable, but PS4 has avatars and themes...
...I'm gonna buy both, aren't I?
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Looking forward to both games, honestly.
