Now that we've seen Destiny 2 in action and the game has a release date, many Guardians want to know the answer to just one question: when's the open beta happening? Bungie has already confirmed that a public test will be available before the sequel launches in September, but it's yet to give a precise date. That's likely to change during E3 2017, however.
Publisher Activision's official blog reads "look for announcements about the Destiny 2 Open Beta during E3". If that's not hinting at a date then we'll eat our exotic hat.

SHOCK
Wonder if we get an E3 alpha again?
Not like theres any servers to stress test.
I would like to know when the CLOSED Beta is going to be!
7 or 17 July was vaguely teased during the launch. May be a red herring.
"When can we play the beta Bob? "
"Well u can play it right now Paul!"
Thats how the e3 conversation will go along with beta release date.
Better go put my 5 bucks down at gamestop and make a thorough anaylsis of the game,to see if I should buy it.
Not if I have to pre-order. screw that.. not gonna pre order just to stress test their servers for them.
will probably give it a go.. but i wasn't sold on what i saw so far, it just looks like more of the exact same.. and having played enough of the first one, that has diminishing returns. plus, the weapons got less and less iconic with each passing expansion, for example mythoclast and fatebringer became pretty much useless after year 1, and what year 2 offered was mostly garbage imo - loot for loot's sake was pointless.
