Bethesda! You had just over 12 hours to go, but you’ve set your ad live for The Evil Within 2 early. Over on Reddit there’s currently a sponsored post promoting the next entry in the survival horror series, which will surely be announced during Bethesda’s press conference. The post states that veteran director Shinji Mikami is back, and it includes the tagline: “The only way out is in.”
Here's a screen grab, via NeoGAF:
We liked the original The Evil Within a fair amount, but felt it suffered from some frustrating difficulty spikes. “Thankfully, legendary director Shinji Mikami doesn’t disappoint in the gameplay department, forcing you to get creative with your plentiful combat options due to an unending absence of resources,” we wrote in our review.

Expected, but I can't wait to see the reveal trailers. I did quite like the original.
I loved The Evil within so cannot wait to see what thay've done with The Evil within 2.
It's one of those games I think that was a decent first attempt, but you know is REALLY going to benefit from a sequel.
I kinda want the first game, but I feel like I'll only enjoy it if I spend little money in it xD
Anyway, how can they hold on so long and then do this? ahah
Both the Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein were 'rumoured' to appear at last years Bethesda briefing so its no surprise that we are finally seeing these now.
I quite enjoyed the first, even though it did have some issues and I would be very interested in a 2nd. I left last years Bethesda feeling somewhat deflated having expected these....
I really enjoyed the first one and was one of the first games which I bought all the dlc for.Really excited about a sequel.
Expected, but great news. Hopefully they tighten everything up this second go round. The first had some wicked ideas.
I still haven't played the first one.
I was ok with the difficulty spikes. I was not ok with the shoddy framerate, loose aiming, awkward movement, crap story, and copy pasting set pieces and battles straight from RE4. I was so excited for Evil Within because of Mikami, and now I'm worried he's going to ruin potentially decent games.
nice
one of the best games ever word up son
Cool. I've owned the original for years, but never got around to playing it. Looks like it's time to rectify that!
I don't think it's too bad of a leak as long as Bethesda can still hold onto their new IP reveals
I cant believe so many people liked the first one so much. I wanted to but the fact that my character literally took up 2/3rds of the screen when sneaking around was absolutely infuriating. Plus it never felt scary. Imo of course. Im hoping the sequal is made from the ground up and not just taking the base game from part 1.
Graphically/visually I hated it so didn't touch it, hopefully it'll look better.
Was disappointed by the first but maybe this will step things up.
@AFCC You can grab the first Evil Within for $30 New on Amazon, or $25 New on eBay if you're lucky.
@Splat @Ralizah Same here, but I might try it out once I buy a PS4 during Black Friday 2017.
Only if they are indeed selling PS4s for $200-$250 New though, and preferably the 1TB model.
The only part of the Bethesda conference I would care about. The first one was good although a bit long and demanding. It really felt like old RE difficulty, but 20h long.
@ToddlerNaruto I'm afraid they will give it at PS PLUS
@AFCC You never truly own a game with PS Plus though, and wouldn't you rather support the developers by purchasing the game?
@ToddlerNaruto Well ost of the time I do support them yes, but I've been spending so much in gaming that sometimes I gotta think a bit before buying xD
@AFCC I sadly always have to wait several years to play a game myself, can't afford to spend more than $25-$30 New on a game.
@ToddlerNaruto That's a bummer! But when you think about it that's the best way to buy games!
@AFCC True enough, by waiting I save alot of money and I end up with a bigger backlog, win-win .
Same reason why I still haven't bought a PS4, but yet I am still collecting games for it.
@ToddlerNaruto that's smart but I couldn't handle the anticipation xD
@AFCC I've got a huge PS3 and Wii U/Wii backlog to plow through, so I'm in no hurry to own a PS4 lol .
@ToddlerNaruto I've a huge backlog of PS3, Vita, PS4 games and still midway through BoTW on switch...
@AFCC You poor soul D:. I have a smaller PS2 backlog too but I don't see myself tackling that anytime soon.
I wanna get a Vita but there just aren't enough games to justify the $200 price tag imo.
@ToddlerNaruto Vita is dead, but I had a blast with it! Some games work really well on the smaller screen and it was a good system! I still want to finish some games there like Persona 4 and Freedom Wars!
@AFCC There are only five PSVita games I really want to play though...
1.) Uncharted: Golden Abyss
2.) Persona 4 Golden
3.) Silent Hill: Book of Memories
4.) Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus
5.) Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus
Everything else I either consider "filler" or not worth my time.
@ToddlerNaruto Fair enough. There's not much more games worth buying the system tbh! There are some fun indies but no one buys a system for indies
@AFCC I might eventually buy a Vita, but that probably won't happen until sometime in 2018 or 2019.
This is all assuming I still work part time min wage fast food by then.
@Gmork___ you was funny when you wrote that comment
@Undead22 oh? How so?
@Gmork___ cause what you said about the hot character Sebastian and wasn't scary? Your kidding right?
