Kind of meh for me as i was hoping for another Dragon age game. Just going to wait for tomorrow ms conference to see gameplay of Anthem
This was really all that got announced? Jesus, now I understand why peeps thought it was dull.
@thatguyEZ It was indeed.
Massively disappionting press conference. I saw it from start to finish. The you tuber messed up payback. The NBA live replay you saw the look on that guy face. At some piont you could feel the emberrasment of it all. Very disappionting on all fronts.
Oh and the star of the show was battlefront two. All that tweets in the world showcasing how we would love to have a single player campain and not one single video or screenshot of the thing. Like Anthem or what was it called as i didnt even read the name before he said see you at microsoft. Im watching your press conference for some bloody reason why should i see microsofts. Jesus!!!!!.
i wasn't expecting a dragon age 4 teaser but i'm still a little bit disappointed it didn't happen. bioware's new ip doesn't really interest me at all at first glance but maybe once we learn more i'll change my mind on it.
other than that, a very boring presser.
That was the most boring E3 conference I've ever watched.
I missed most of it...I started right when the SWBF2 part started. Guess that was all worth watching. I went back checking for that other SW game but...nothin'. 😥
Even microsoft will have a better conference this year
Far too soon for another dragon age, I'd say another 2 years for that , looking forward to new star wars battlefront thou . skipped the last one due to ea selling half the game as dlc and no single player
Looks like I didn't miss anything while I was at work.
Yep glad I went into work early lol
Updated.
Must have been exciting if you're into sports and eSports, but most of this stuff showed wasn't among my priorities (although SWBF2 does look neat and it's nice to see Battlefield 1 update to the Russian side of things - I wonder if CoD WWII could eventually follow suit in DLC form, too?). Feeling for the YouTube presenter guy whose nerves got the better of him, but NFS Payback was still the main highlight for me - a fun gameplay sample reminiscent even of Pursuit Force at some points, and more motivation for me to have this game on my wishlist. Among the new announcements, the other highlight was A Way Out, especially since it's spectacular to see a story-driven co-op only game on PS4 in 2017 (or whenever it's out).
Awful, I watched the first 5 minute's and turned it off, what a tosser that guy was, he was bangin on about how passionate we are and how game's do great thing's for us but then he said something like "so let's get straight on to a game that has taken the world by storm!!!...........here's 30 minute's of.....BF1!!!!" .......Yeah I stopped watching about then..
Yeah it was boring. Next one should be good .
I was really disappointed with the lack of news regarding the 'other' Star Wars games in development. Both Visceral and Respawn were shown at last years E3 to be developing Star Wars games yet this year - nothing.
Last year we did have BF1 and TF2 as well as ME:A but we did get confirmation that EA were bringing SWBF2 back for 2017 with a look at the other Star Wars games in development - albeit mostly developer chat rather than any significant game-play. As someone not interested in Sport, the annual franchises of Fifa and Madden didn't appeal.
Last year we did get 'Fe' which didn't appeal much to me but more so than 'A Way Out' because it did have some 'charm' and more a game I would play if I had to pick between the two.
Anthem could be the 'surprise'. Aesthetically it was impressive and thematically very interesting but with so little shown (at least until today at MS's show), its difficult to get very excited by it right now.
Need for Speed:Payback seemed to be borrowing elements from Forza Horizon - like Relics instead of Barn Finds, the open world, go anywhere and find activities like 'races, drifting etc'. Story aspect seemed to be borrowing heavily from the Fast and Furious franchise and the takedowns were very reminiscent of Burnout. Of course all of these combined can make a great game and if you are going to 'borrow' ideas, borrow from the leaders in the genre. I didn't think the acting or transitions were that great. The transitions, take-downs etc seemed to affect the flow and pace for example.
SW:BF2 looked as I expected it to look. Seemed to play as I expected it to play. That's not a bad thing as the first played well but was ruined by lack of depth/variety, the 'pick-ups' and lack of content. These have been addressed and the Battle Point system, rewarding players for playing the objective, killing, assisting and supporting team mates is much better than Pick-ups. Pick-ups not only ruined the aesthetics but also the game-play as team-mates were more concerned with getting them than winning/playing objectives and supporting each other. However all this was known beforehand - inc the 'free DLC' for all. As a result, I think it fell a bit 'flat' with the audience.
The delivery of most of it was poor, looked very unprofessional and unrehearsed and trying to appeal to the youtube generation. It relied too much on 'chat' to try and build up hype (which failed) and not enough 'games' or game-play. It wasn't until SWBF2 at the end, with the Storm-troopers etc, that we had a more 'professional' and 'rehearsed' section.
EA Play really hasn't worked well for them - trying to do their own 'PSX' for their games but really haven't managed to get it working for them. They need to let the games do the talking and if they are making deals with Sony or MS, maybe ought to close the show so they can go into more depth on their games. I know Fifa and SW:BF2 had quite a bit of coverage but its not like Sony would give them the time EA can and its not like these games were 'unexpected' either.
Anyway, that's my appraisal of EA's show....
