Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was the UK’s best-selling game by a country mile in June, more than doubling the tally registered by second-place title, Tekken 7. The remake was on sale for just two days. This follows reports that the Activision published package stole the biggest single format debut of the year from Horizon: Zero Dawn – a noteworthy feat given how strongly Guerrilla Games’ role-playing title fared.
Sadly, the success of the title is overshadowed by the fact that it would have been a dismal month for the British games industry without it. The ‘coot helped push physical game revenue up by four per cent year-over-year, but it would have been a poor June otherwise. Nevertheless, the PS4 accounted for 55 per cent of software sales, compared to 28.4 per cent on Xbox One and just 5.7 per cent on Nintendo Switch – a reminder perhaps that it’s still very early days for the House of Mario’s new hardware.
We’ve included the Top 20 best-selling titles in Britain for June 2017 below:

Early days maybe. Or the system is just crap and its the UK we are talking about. Less than 7% market share is legitimately terrible.
But good for Crash. Shame the game is flawed but thats what patches are for.
Hey, 3 PlayStation exclusives in the top 10 is pretty solid.
"PS4 accounted for 55 per cent of software "
That's a huge difference between the other consoles
@B-I-G-DEVIL Yup, but I guess looking at how well Crash did, that alone will be making a big difference.
EDIT: Plus, Tekken 7 did infinitely better on PS4 than Xbox, and then you've got Horizon in fourth. So makes sense.
@get2sammyb yes the article said Activision Blizzard contributed to 16.5 % so that would be COD IW and MWR , Overwatch and Crash?
So guessing Crash was maybe 10% of the 55% . 45% is still a big difference though
Aaaand GTA V is still in the top 3... which is still the real accomplishment here.
(Good on crash though, we need more platformers)
I'm loving the crash bandicoot collection. I just got the platinum for one which was a pain but I still plan on doing the same for 2 and 3.
SMH. At least Horizon's hanging in top 5 around. Go Aloy!!
@BLP_Software Id say thats fairly harsh. The Switch is still outstripping demand so its still very very early days to say if its crap or not. 7% market share within what.. 3 months? I would be fairly pleased with that if I were Nintendo.
@Neolit inorite? I totally do the same.
Don't worry GTA will put Crash in its place next week
Surely it was only on sale for one day in June??
Woot woot! Albeit on a slow month, but still great news for UK and the bandicoot.
Full Throttle Up!
That's pretty good for Tekken, right?
Weird that Switch is only 5% but three of their games are in that June top 20.
Very happy for Crash though. Makes me believe that people in UK actually like colourful platforms but prefer to play on Sony's systems.
Great to see Crash doing well, will hopefully allow for brand new games in the series and, fingers crossed, for Spyro to get the remaster treatment too.
I don't think 5% for the Switch is too bad, there's still not many retail titles out there yet, and all signs point to the many e-shop releases doing very well so far, the system is also still very hard to find, i have a feeling its going to have a very high attach rate once the system really gets going, it has a cracking line-up for the rest of the year, a big first party game for every single month until at least December, my poor wallet lol
I'm looking forward to the NPD numbers for Crash as well. I have a feeling it will do well here and Crash Team Racing remastered will pretty much be ensured to happen.
