The majority of Japanese role-playing games begin with an amnesiac hero, but what if the lead character forgets everything at the end? The Longest Five Minutes aims to explore exactly that, as you attempt to recover your memories on the PlayStation Vita in 2018.
“As the story unfolds, the conversations you have with your party and the Overlord will unlock memories of the hero’s journey,” the blurb reads. “Each memory plays out in classic 8-bit RPG style, and the outcome of those memories affect your party in their final battle.”
This is a really interesting framing device, though we want to see how the moment-to-moment gameplay takes advantage of it. There’s a new English language trailer embedded above.

The majority? There's a few but many are just waking up and then find themselves in the middle of something big as they go on their daily routine
The majority of evil bosses are too eager to savour the moment of the hero's weakness instead of killing the hero straight away.
@Radbot42 I guess. Feels like it's every game it's such an established trope, though.
Actually interested in this. Unfortunately I don't have a vita anymore. So it's more likely to be a switch purchase if anything.
I feel like I have been waiting ages for this. Glad it finally has a release date.
